Shrink keeps on locking up when....

After it goes through the beginning of the movie, and when I click on re-author or burn....it just locks up. It has started every since I got a new dvd burner, 16x. It is an external drive, just like my other drive.

Anyone know why it keeps on doing this all the time now?

do you get any error messages?
are you sure its not conflicting with some other program on your pc?

Are you talking about the "Quick Analysis" it does each time you insert a new DVD?

Do you have Direct X or the latest Direct X installed?

Do a "Windows Update".

I think I might have solved the pro9blem. It always happened with I would go to BACKUP. It would lock up. MY COMPUTER was showing the drive as CD DRIVE and not DVDRW, which it was. I noticed it shows that cd drive whenever a blank dvd is in the drive, so I wait to put the blank dvd in the drive until AFTER I click on backup.

Is that common?

It is fine it happens to all my drives as soon as I insert the disk.
