I just went to best buy today dec 3 and they had verbatim +r after instate rebate 7.99. Now thats cheap..lol:>

I know its an odd place to buy media, but Walgreens has Maxell disks on sale 30 for 9.99, going to check them out.

Office Depot has their buy 1 get 2 free deal. (Or 150 disks for $36.99) The packaging looks different in the ad. I hope they are still at least Ritek quality.
Plus CompUSA has Sony 50 packs for $17.99. Gotta love the made in Japan Ty's. I love the clean white surface for my sharpies.

OfficeDepot Media Still RITEKS ! missed the last sale like a dummy so went straight away ! got the Buy one get two free deal & checked them when got home Bought the Dash R's so they codeed out as Ritek G-o5's ! It's not as though I really needed the media but great price & besides all those DVD cases were getting lonely LOL! have some more news to post elsewhere once I get the count right ya! know what I mean? anways the sale runs thru 12-10-05 so get'em while they're hot ! anyways, MOST Verbatims are "made in taiwan", and so far, at least here in CA, ALL of them have been MCC (Mitsubishi Chemicals Corp.) manufactured since the beginning of this year~ :) i have yet to find one here PERSONALLY that was NOT MCC coded~

Okay now I know. I was just confused cause everyone and their brother says use made in japan and verbatims are made in taiwan. So i what I was getting at was they the crap verbatim or good ones. Now I know. Thanks and sorry aabbccdd I mistook ya for alkohol..lol.!

Btw...they came out with a bunch of pi errors and pi failures...but the graph looked a helluve better than cmc mag crap. Im not quite sure how to use nero cd/dvd tool, but it did look a lot better than cmc mag, plus the discs have a pretty deep purple dye on them unlike cmc blood red dye...so they got to be better. The tdk had the purple dye and they came out good too....:>

Well these days you never know. I thought new packaging maybe new manufacturer. Hoping they haven't gone the CMC route like some others lately. I need more disks like I need more cases. I'm an addict on every level.

Hey all,
They still have loads of media at Office Depot in Rochester, NY. The sale is on both DVD-R and DVD+R 50pks. I stopped by looking to get what ever I could yesterday when I realized what a deal they were running. I haven't had a chance yet to crack open the case and check their encoding, but when I get back for lunch I'll give it a shot.
On a side note, anybody know where to find DVD-RAM? I also just purchased a DVD burner for myself which can burn DVD-RAM evidently. I could use the 9.5gb storage, but I have no idea where to look

Keork- occassionaly at samsclub you may find dvd-ram also sometimes ar walllyworld ! I would think any of the major retailers on-line or brick & mortar stores should carry it ! especially if they sell dvd/dvd-ram recorders or dvd-ram capable burners ! Don't know what the new style packaging like the kind in the add codes out too but bought some officedepot DVD-R yesterday in the old pakaging and they are RITEK G-O5's if that helps Keork if you got the ones in the new blue wrapper let us know if they code differently okay Keork! good luck & happy burning .happy ho;idays

I'm guessing that the same media brand guidelines apply for DVD-RAM? Stick to Verbatim or "Made in Japan" media?
Any other suggestions for DVD-RAM? (I'm an utter n00b when it comes to this type of media)

I went to a computer show with my son yesterday and found a heck of a deal on blank dvd's. Guy had a 100-pack of "no name" dvd +R's for $20.00. He told me that if bought them, he would throw in a $25.00 (that's right) copy of DVDDecrypter for free! Asked him if this was the same Decrypter that I had already downloaded for free. Guy got mad and said...No, No, No, this is a special copy. My son and I just laughed and walked away. BTW, there were absolutely no bargains on any burners (NEC 3540A(?) for $65.00) or blank media and several vendors were selling verbatim, maxell, fuji, and of course, memosux. 1 vendor had 3-pk of verbatim D/L for $15.00 cash or $15.75 if credit card. Can't believe some of these people.

kinda like when the big retailers put a $ 49.00 to %79.00 price on any dvd media ! Even off brand /no name crap! I suppose they're trying to catch the unaware ? In ancient days the slow were eaten by predators ! Thank Goodness For Afterdawn.com so we can prevent people from being ripped off like that ! Glad You did'nt buy that copy of DVD Decrypter ! you should've asked him if it came with free updates LOL! Anyway Good Luck & happy Burning & happy Holidays
