Have you also tired to use Decrypter to copy files to HDD and then use Shrink on the HDD folder.
Not sure what protection is on the disks, maybe Shrink is just finding a hurdle it can't get over with new protection.
If still having trouble, try downloading 21 day trial version of AnyDVD and then running Shrink on the disk.
I am presuming that your system works fine copying other protected disks, it is just these 2 new ones that it struggles with.
If its all your disks, have you just loaded either Shrink for first time or other software that might be causing a problem.
You could try running something like enditall2 to shut down all un-required systems and apps, and release all your resources for the processing of the films.

Make sure you defrag the HD ever so often as dvd burning really breaks thing up. I do it every week.

hey thanks for your reply but have tried new version any dvd and decrypter to the harddrive then shrink have also tried defragging. this and madagascar are the only movies that have this error all other movies are doing fine. I have done the movie with clonedvd2 but I don't like the quality I think shrink has better quality. So I'm trying to find out why I can't do it with shrink. With Madagascar I also turned off everything that was running at startup but still had same problem.

These two movies have bad cells in them try ripping with DVD Decrypter then run it through VobBlanker, and then open the ouput file with Shrink. VobBlanker will blank out the suspect files.
http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm
It comes in a WinZip file and you just click on the executable file in WinZip to use it, you do not need to install it on your HDD.
Just pick your input file which is your decrypted file and then what file you want for output and hit process. Then open Shrink and browse to the file and just open it. I did Valiant the whole disk this way and it turned out fine.

I backed up Valiant using AnyDVD and rebuilder, so I know AnyDVD has the copy protection on this film cracked (at least for UK PAL version)

I wouldn't be surprised if Valiant, like Madagascar, comes up with 'File not synchronized' in VOB Blanker.
In order for me to rip Mad, I had to pull out just the main movie in Shrink, and burn with Nero. If anyone in the family cares to watch the penguins (funny as hell), they'll just have to pull out the original.

Just use AnyDVD and CLONEDVD@ as this is a flawless way to back up the entire movie with special features.

There is a really easy way to do this. Use DVD Decrypter in iso mode then open it with shrink using the open disc image option under file. It works on all the new disney release's

If you are going to run AnyDVD then just insert the disk into your drive and rip it using VobBlanker, it cuts out the Decrypter step, makes the process faster.

Technically nothing is wrong with Shrink it just is not being updated with anything new and so you need to use other software to help shrink finish the process it used to do by itself. VOBBLANKER was the key to getting it done through shrink though :)
