Help, please, I am just learning to rip and burn my home DVD's as back-up copies and I was partially successful. I was able to use DVDFab Decrypter, then put the files on my hard-drive, then I used DVD-Shrink to ensure that the files fit on my DVD+R disk. At this point, I attempted to copies the files from the HDD to a DVD+R disk, but was not able to do so. I am able to watch the movie directly from my hard-drive using DVD Shrink, so I know the copy and encryption when okay. I just need to know the next step to copies the files to a disk so I can have the physical copy and delete the files from my hard-drive. Please help out a novice.. Thank you..

What do you mean by not being able to copy, what program are you using to burn.

Still need to know what program you tried to use, if you put the files on your HDD are they an iso image file or VTS files, because Decrypter or ImgBurn will only do iso files.

This is the way I do it and it's very simple....really.
First goto ImgBurn.com and download ImgBurn and install it (it's free and creates perfect DVDs form an ISO image which DVDshrink will create for you).
Once you have the video files on your HDD (in the VIDEO_TS folder) after using DVDFab Decrypter, close DVDFab Decrypter and open DVDshrink. Choose the Open Files option and browse to the VIDEO_TS folder, highlight the folder and press ok/open. I'm assuming you're backing up the whole movie, click on the backup tab and choose your backup options, here it's important to choose to save target as an ISO image for burning then choose the location to store the image on your HDD. Once all other choices have been made press ok to begin the backup process.
When DVDshrink is done you should have an ISO image on your HDD ready for burning, that's where ImgBurn comes in. Close DVDshrink and open ImgBurn, in the main window simply choose the source file(ISO image created by DVDshrink), choose the destination (DVD burner you are using), choose write speed (use 4X for write speed), insert your DVD+R media and press the "HDD to Disk" icon in the window. ImgBurn will now burn the ISO image onto the DVD, once complete you should be able to watch the DVD on any set top player. Works every time for me, DVDshrink makes great video quality backups.
Enjoy....

Since you have VTS files you need a program that does this format, such as Nero. If you do not have this program go back and redo your file with Shrink and tell it to create a iso file and burn with Decrypter. When you hit backup and the screen comes up for your target choose iso burn with Decrypter.

Okay, lets back up and see if I get the process straight. You ripped your files with DVD FabDecrypter and that went okay, you then used Shrink successfully and managed to get your compressed files to your HDD. You were not able to copy these files, which were VTS files, to your disk. Did you use Nero to burn the same files as you had compressed with Shrink, or the files you had ripped with DVD FabDecrypter? Post your Nero log, if you used Recode and Nero 6 the look in My Computer Program Files/Ahead/Nero Vision/Nero Files/Nero History. Copy and Paste the log in a post.

You can also trick DVDShrink to opening imgburn automatically and burn your backup right away so that you do not have to do it manually.
To do so go to the imgburn program folder and right click on the imgburn.exe file. Select Copy.
Now go to the DVDdecrypter program folder and paste the imgburn.exe copy into the folder. Now select the DVDdecrypter.exe file and rename it something like DVDdecrypter_Real.exe. (You do this so you can find the origonal DVDdecrypter.exe file). Next select the copied imgburn.exe file and rename it DVDdecrypter.exe.
In the shrink settings select the "write ISO and burn with decrytper"
Now each time that shrink is finished with its job it will open the burn engine for imgburn.
Works great.

I want to thank you very much for your professional tips in getting me started in ripping and burning my home collections of my DVD's. Does it matter if I use DVD -R or DVD +, I just brought some TDK DVD+RW 4 x 4.7GB, so I am hoping they will work.

I need some help. I've been using Decrypter and Shrink to rip and burn my movies for the past few months with no problems. Just yesterday my friend was fixing up my computer and he deleted a few things. I went to backup a movie last night and Shrink wasn't working properly so I uninstalled it and then downloaded Shrink again. But now when I go to hit "Backup" the option which says "Create image file and burn with DVD Decrypter" is no longer there. Shrink won't work for me to just burn it alone. Just wondering why that option is no longer there? Can I still burn with Decrypter even without that option? Help would be much appreciated!

Did you uncheck the enable burning with Nero in the Preferences section under the I/O tab. Shrink installs this by default and then you will not see the burn with Decrypter selection under backup.
