Errors Using DVD Shrink After Nero Demo Download

Hello, I'm not sure if this is merely coincidence, or if the Nero Demo Download did something to my files. When I tried copying "Galaxy Quest" I got an error saying the burn failed. I went to my programs list and deleted the Nero Demo and tried again. The burn still failed. I then re-downloaded DVD-Shrink. The burn failed again.

Yes, I'm a newbie at this... and would really appreciate your help in fixing the problem.

Marlene, you may want to edit out your product code starting 1C83 near the top of your log...

Here's one thing you could try, un-install those programs...

Then install DVD Decrypter and then DVD Shrink... you can get DVD Decrypter from here:- http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/269104#1520416

Enable burning with DVD Decrypter.. then try again.

1. remove you Nero serial number as I already have enough Nero serial numbers but others might not. LOL It starts w/ 1C83..............

2.LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-832S- VPDD W/ that firmware update it looks like you are using a HP OEM Version. If so check HP's site for firmware update

The burner does not like your blank media. Nero 6 used to identify the blank media but it looks like 7 does not. If you are not using Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Sony -MIJ, Ritek, Maxell then I suggest you start there

Hello... Sorry it took me so long to try the fixes both of you (Paddymail and Car.Mike) suggested but I'm happy to report IT WORKED!!

Thank you VERY MUCH!

First, I uninstalled Nero. I was under the mistaken assumption that if I "deleted" the program it was gone. But I see now, that I was wrong.

Next, I reinstalled Nero, but I cannot find my product code or serial number for the original copy I had ... so I had to reinstall only the free demo version.

Before uninstalling DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter, I decided to try burning a backup -- I'm happy to report that it DID work!

Paddymail, thanks for the excellent suggestions.

Car.Mike, thanks for explaining what the errors are all about (in plain and simple language).

I'm going to keep a copy of both of your fixes "Justin Case" it happens again.

Y'know... I just wanted to stop back in here and thank you "guys" again. I've always said ANYthing you could ever want or need can be found with your computer. And you proved it again and again.

Not only did you tell me what all the technical info translates to, and what to do to correct the problem I had ... you were also very VERY understanding and very kind to this relative-newbie.
