DVD Shrink / Nero - Burning Problem

Completely non-tech newbie here and just joined after reading up on the Philips Burner on the Dell. I've searched this forum for anyone with a similar problem as mine but I could not find any.
I had used DVD Shrink with Nero without an issue and had burned about 3 dozen DVDs without a problem. I don't avidly burn DVDs but recently, I started having burning problems whereby the DVD was pretty messed up with skipping and bad pixels. I've watched the file with Nero Showtime and I would say the problem is not in the encoding with DVD Shrink.
The strangest part is that I've seen pictures of a previously burned DVD on the current DVD being burned. For example if I was watching a currently burned copy of Toy Story, I would see an image of Thomas the Train (the last burned DVD) and I am NOT using a RWs.
I updated my Nero to the latest version from 6 and I still have a problem.
I began using DVD Shrink / DVD Decryptor for the last 2 burns and no problem whatsoever. Perfect Burns. Although I've been told that my media is not the best (Fuji, Ridata), I've had no problems with this before and like I said, the burns with DVD Decryptor work just fine.
Anyone else have this problem where Nero is having a burning issue? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I've not heard of that kind of problem with Nero.
Here are a few tips for you,
1. It is not recommended to burn at more than 4X.
2. Do not apply paper/adhesive labels.
3. Set target size for backup to 4300.
4. Use quality media. Ridata is a subsidiary of Ritek, which generally considered to be very good media, however lately there have been numerous reports of bad batches. Fuji is also good media, but only if made in Japan. Some other good choices would be Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden and also Sony and Maxell(made in Japan).
As for the apperant burn in images, that is beyond me. Never heard of such a problem.

either way let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.
You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

I have learned a lot on this forum and yes, I use to burn at 8X and not set the custom to 4300 but now I do. But I have to say that I use to burn at 8X with no problem and never did have a problem with the video when I was burning close to the "edge".
Creaky:
I went to look at the latest log and the odd thing is that according to the log, the last DVD I burned was on Nov. 27th. This is definitely not the last DVD I burned. The log also states that it burned with Nero Version 6 but I am now on 7.
This particular DVD stated that the DVD was burned with warnings. I've had that problem before and I wouldn't burn the DVDs. The problem I have now is that DVD Shrink / Nero will not state there is a problem and burn "successfully" but when I view the DVD, it hasn't burned successfully at all.
In fact, I believe that I began having problems around Nov. 27th. I am pasting the log here to see if anyone might spot something since I have no idea what the log really means. Not sure why my Nero log is not up to date though. I've omitted the serial number but let me know if there is anything else I should delete.

- 4465MB is burning too close to outer edge of discs. If you use DVD Shrink, set target size to 4300MB in Shrink's preferences thus avoiding outer edge and not sacrificing much space

Since you are running a Dell you can only update with firmware from the Dell site, because it is their OEM drive. Plug in your service tag number and see if you have the latest.

Went on the Dell site and downloaded the GD30 firmware update and the exact same thing happened. I never received a message from Dell to log in my service tag number.

I should add that when I am on the Dell site, the GD30 appears to be for a 16X Philips drive whereas mine is only 8X.

Have you put in your service tag number for your Dell, because that should bring exactly what is installed in you computer and the updates for it.
