I have used DVD shrink with DVD Decryptor for over a year now and haven't had a bit of problems. That was on my desktop (Windows XP). I got a new external DVD burner for Christmas and have used it several times with no problems at all. Today, I fire up my laptop, which had an older version of DVD Shrink on it. I opened the software, clicked on Open Disk, so far, so good... then, when I got all my selections done, I clicked on Backup, the program just closed down. I did it several times with different movies. Same thing. So, I uninstalled that older version, installed the new version... same thing. it is just shutting down when I click on Open Disk. Am I missing some setting? Has anyone else had this problem? Please help! I am going out of town and need my laptop and dvd burner to work together. Thanks... Janis

It could have something to do with the configuration of your computer. Try to go back and see if you can delete all of the old registry keys that might have been with the original version you had. Try seeing if you can do this with Regedit, or look for a program I use called RegSeeker. You can find it here: http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm
