Does anyone know to fix this. I have tried DVDFab Decrypter and it doesn't work. I tried DVD43 and saw the green smiley face and tried to go straight DVD Shrink, but received this message. DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to read D:\. Incorrect function. I appreciate any advice with this.

Thanks!!

Use AnyDVD insted of DVD43.
If its still giving you problems,
Run AnyDVD in the background then use dvdDecryptr to
rip the files to HDD.
Then select those same files using DVD Shrink.

I have only had to this a couple times,
Normally AnyDVD and DVD Shrink work alone.

yea, this is a weird dvd. at first i tried running any dvd in the background and then ripping in file mode using DVD Decrypter. then i went to 'open files' with DVD Shrink and i got an error.
so i then opened up clone dvd and selected the video_ts folder for dark water and told clone dvd to create an iso. I then got an error a few minutes into the encoding

so i deleted the dark water files off my hard drive and put back the orginal dark water dvd.
had any dvd running in the background and then opened up clone dvd, selected the dvd, and then had clone dvd create the iso.

That method worked perfectly

I did the movie 2 ways - ripped with fab decrypter than ran thru CloneDVD - not a problem - perfect playback. 2nd way was AnyDVD w/ clone dvd again - no problems.
This disc does have some funky stuff on it so after ripping w/ fab decrypter tun thru VOB blanker than process thru shrink.

If you rip with DVD Decrypter and process the files through VOB Blanker, DVD Shrink should have no problems with reading the files and burning with Nero.

Did you use the latest version of DVD FabDecrypter? I tested it out on Friday then used Shrink. No problems.

I agree with wolfniggr, fab decrypter with shrink = a perfect backup of that lame movie. The best part about it is you don't have to spend a dime on either of those 2 programs.

My momma once told me... If shrink don't wanna recognize, bust a VOB banker on that AZZ!!!!!

i must be lucky. i used DVD Shrink on it's lonesome for this movie, no problems whatsoever. However my next program to use if Shrink had barfed would have been DVDFab Decrypter which has sorted out the odd troublesome movie for me.

I haven't had any complaints from this one and I used the OLD SCHOOL DVDXCopy platinum with AnyDVD running in the back ground. I myself have not watched the movie.

I had no problem with running DVD43 v.3.7.0.113 in backgroung and run DVDShrink. I re-authored it and selected main movie "Title1" and selected "backed up". After it finished I used DVDClone2 to burn with. This works with all the Sony Accros "invalid block".

i'm not a newbie to dvd burning, but am a newbie to the forum, sort of... *hello* ... i've used the forums for all kinds of techie problems, but haven't ever posted before. you guys are great for answering questions ;)

so here's my problem... up until about 2 weeks ago, i had NO problems whatsoever copy/burning ANY movie onto DVD+R - using AnyDVD and DVD Fab Decrypter to rip and Nero (trial) and DVD Shrink to burn. All of a sudden I had problems burning. So I ran to the forums, did some research, uninstalled Roxio (boo hoo!), tweaked Shrink to start at 4360, and did something else, but I can't remember what... whoops. I copy/burned Dark Water fine the first time - no problems. Now it won't copy/burn a second time (I like to make backups of my backups b/c I have NO clue how to use Alcohol 120). I've pasted the message box from this last time I copy/burned... this is actually a new error that I've not seen before (key illegal request). Thanks in advance for any help... I don't want to waste what precious few DVD+R's I have left cuz payday's not until Friday, lol ;) JJ

I am also having problems with this movie. I had DVD43 running in background and put movie on HD with DVD Decrypter. Everything was fine. When I opened DVDShrink, I went to re-author and the file was there, but when the file opened no titles came up. I opened the file in my HD straight through C:/ drive and the different video files are there. Does anyone know why no titles are showing up? I have never had this problem.

I was able to back the dvd up. I ran DVD43 in the background and just used shrink to make an .iso file. Then I burned it using DVD Decrypter.

Shrink works -- you just have to move the movie ahead with the blue <-/-> (arrows).
It takes a minute to pull up these however

Move it up 40 seconds -- I jumped to chapter 2 and went backwards, b/c those first 40 seconds are what causes shrink to fail and/or lock up.
If you look at the preview you'll notice it black for a 40 seconds at the beginning. I believe that's what's preventing it from working.

STEP BY STEP for shrink:
once shrink is open, double click your DVD's drive.
Pull/drag the main movie title (it sits alone on the right) from the right box to the left.
ONce it's done analyzing, click the blue front/back arrows (this takes a good minute to come up...don't fret).
Once up, jump the front to chapter two, and drag or click the arrow back to about 40 seconds (11 frames it said, I think).
Don't go too far before 40 or it will freeze.
That should do it -- you can remove the languages and add subtitles by changing the "Compression settings."

If you want all the titles, then 1. you're dumb -- it's dark water for crying out loud; and 2. I haven't tried to add extras in this manner.
WHo the hell wants extras anyway?

FUCKIN GOT IT!!! AFTER 2 DAYS.

This shit chokes AnyDVD, DVD Decryptor, VOB Balnker...Jesus.
Anyway. Heres my method.

Flip on AnyDVD (I used 5.9.1.1), copy files to hard drive. Use the free FixVTS program here:
http://www.videohelp.com/~FixVTS/ (I used v1.24)
to fix the 2 protected VOB's
VTS_01_1.VOB
and
VTS_04_1.VOB

Then skrink will rape it like Coby on a white chick.
Also notice that shrink displays a black image for about the first 10% of the encode, its alright, you will eventually start to see the movie begin to flash in the preview window.
