I have had dvd shrink for about 6 months and it has been burning movies in about an hour and a half. I know i have a slow computer, but all of a sudden, i put dvd shrink on, and it tells me that it can take 68 hours. I left and came back in one hour, and it was only 3% done. Can someone please tell me why this happend. I already deleted and re-installed the program. But the same exact thing happens.

Sounds like you could be in the sloooow PIO mode instead of DMA.
Here's a guide to help you check and correct:

ndp699,
Welcome to the forum. Do what Binkie7 suggest but also d/l a free registry cleaner to clean out the registry of any conflicts. For every 5-6 conflicts Windows drops down 1 notch. Clean up the conflicts and after doing what Binkie7 wants you to do it should not re-occur.

Also verify the cables are connected and seated properly .

ndp699 ,
You need to hae Adobe Reader activated on your computer as the link worked fine for me.
Start> My Computer and right click on it
Go to Properities> Hardware>Device Manager>IDE/ATA Atapi Controllers>Click on the (+) sign and your Primary burner should be on the Secondary IDE Channel> right click on it and then click on Properities> go to Advanced Settings and make sure Transfer Mode is in DMA and Current Transfer Mode is Ultra DMA Mode 2

Let me see if this still works on the How To for DMA

Click on Start

Left click once on My Computer
Right click once on My Computer and select properties.

Double click on Device Manager

Double click on IDE ATA/ATAPI then Double Click on Secondary IDE Channel (Do this for the channel that has your DVD Burner on it, usually the Secondary Channel.)

Make sure your settings are for DMA not PIO
