I just got off the nothing will work with the wedding crashers forum, I posted a couple letters, I meantioned that my old trusty dvdxcopy from 321 studios worked fine with the wedding crashers, but not with the cave, I tried it with 321 plus I also have dvdxplat. from xcopy software also came with videovault, this one needs DVD43 to run, niether worked.
I also mentioned on that other forum that when it comes time to start configuring things thats when I say goodbye, there is no way I can do things like that, I looked on how you defeated the cave and its chinese to me and always will be, but, even tough your kind of help is way beyond people like me, I just want to say cuddo's to you for defeating those sony people, man you made my day, I buy my movies, and after my kids screw them up I learned a while back to back them up, who are they not to give me that right.
Anyway, I heard that AnyDVD might be defeating this thing, I heard it sits in the background like DVD43 and thats what I need, will probably get it and give it a try, I just hope it works with dvdxplat.
Alkohol, you go guy, and thanks again to afterdawn, the only place where people have to balls and talk freely on how to defeat the big guys. Fredrick.

Great results on backing up the cave.
I downloaded the latest version of DVDFAB Decrypter v2.9.6.8
and used clonedvd2 to burn and got a perfect backup of "the cave"
did'nt have to use pcgedit or vobblanker.
DVDFAB Decrypter took out the fbi warnings also.

@rick5446

I have not gotten mpeg vcr yet. Is it free software?

I am still having trouble getting the full version of the cave. It seems that after DVDFAB does it's thing the files are too big for shrink.

@ olaton..U can't just use DVDFAB & EXPECT TO PUT IT ON a Disc..U have to shrink it..all fab does is copy it to your harddrive..If U did as I suggested to a few others back a page or so U would've had it by now
download the trial versions for now CloneDVD and AnyDVD..these will copy,shrink,and burn it to a DVD for U.JUST USE THE TOP RIGHTHAND Box in Clone to copy movie only.Just keep clicking next,but look at every page carefully befrore U do the program will only do what U want,check each bx for checkmarks,if U want it to burn or not etc.
We will work on the mpeg vcr.I'll try to PM U on that

Yes, "The Great Raid" has a similar issue, but I solve it easily with another "mini guide" just like this one. Enjoy both of your backups now.

The Great Raid is an awesome movie.

@burbon

Glad you've got things sorted out. Enjoy your backup now. However, I belive it's not DVDFAB Decrypter that took out that annoying fbi warning, it may be clonedvd2. But then I don't use clonedvd2 or AnyDVD.

Here are my methods: All tools are FREE, worked perfectly, NO AnyDVD or DVD43 required. 100% successfully backed up regardless if it's RipGuard or ARccOS.

<><> A <><>
DVD Decrypter to rip via Mode, File F
VobBlanker to filter, process and blank out fbi warning, bad/fake cells/pgcs

<><> B <><>
DVD Decrypter to rip via Mode, File F
PgcEdit wizard (combo PSL2 plugin + FixVTS) to filter and process bad/fake cells/pgcs

<><> C <><>
DVD Decrypter ro rip via Mode, ISO, Read R
DVD Shrink "Open Disk Image" to transcode/shrink

<><> D <><>
DVDFAB Decrypter to rip into hard drive
VobBlanker to filter, process and blank out fbi warning, bad/fake cells/pgcs

<><> E <><>
DVDFAB Decrypter to rip into hard drive
PgcEdit wizard (combo PSL2 plugin + FixVTS) to filter and process bad/fake cell/pgcs

Good luck at ripping and burning!!

Hoping you can come to my rescue again...I'm having trouble with "Dark Water"...I've tried using DVDFab, as well as going through PGC Edit and using DVD Decrypter, and after ripping with DVD Decrypter, PGC edit was unable to rip the IFO files (2 of them, to be exact) that failed when ripping with Decrypter....WOuld you happen to have another mini guide or any suggestions on how to overcome this problem?

Thanks a bunch again for all the help !

@dreamon11

You're welcome, glad I could help. In query to "Dark Water", I haven't done it yet because I haven't buy it yet, but I'll try every method that I'm experienced with.

On the other hand, I watched "Dark Water" (American remake version) at the big screen when it was out a while back and I did enjoyed it. However, I've got the original Japanese version of "Dark Water" on dvd, and I must say I enjoyed the original a little more. Overall, both versions are great.

Just keep an eye on any of my future "mini guides" on the forum. Good luck on ripping and burning.

Message for ALKOHOL: I took your advise and read, I guess I read all there was to read. I must have taken it for granted thinking I had the latest version of DVD FAB. After reading and re-reading I noticed my version was alot older, anyway I downloaded it from your thread, and voila!! I must say you were right it works like a charm..

All done and working!!!

@ burbon..That is way to much to try & compress..What Movie U got? never seen a Movie of that size
U can use DVD Shrink but it will take about 5 hrs or Clone DVD its a little faster[cheez thats more then 45% compression]..but the quality is going to probably look like a VHS Tape recorded in SLP
Are U sure that U don't have 10 gigs that has already been compressed & put together if this is the case it's going to look even worse
Write back I sure would like to know what movie U got

Shortest method is do the clone dvd + AnyDVD method!

only way to do this movie easy!

Using DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink/EasyDVD Shrink, AnyDVD,Nero, DVDFab Decrypt

On this forum I noticed rick got hollerd at about some links he posted, you know I didnt get a chance to check it out to really know exactly what went on here, but this is confusing, I love afterdawn for many reasons, one bieng we can discuss or teach one another about many things, as long as rick didnt call somebody's momma names or didnt threaten somebody what exactly did he do wrong, I dont get it, something was said about piracy, I know that afterdawn had to shut down certain things after Jan.1 but how does that affect us, we are not affiliated with afterdawn, just a member, doesnt that give us the right to talk about anything short of what I mentioned on top.
I mean everybody and thier mother is talking about defeating movies like The Cave, and telling us in precise detail how to do it, and I know that Sony calls that piracy, if it was up to them they would lock us up by just talking about it, but we as Americans still have I hope, was is called free speech, and I copy my store bought movies all the time, I paid for it, my kids ruined enough of my movies I bought, and don't care if Sony or the goverment likes it or not, so, short of rick selling something, what exactly did he do wrong.
We all know about offensive language, and threats, other than that if there are so called gray area's that I'm not aware of please somebody explain it to me. You see what bothered me most about this was that rick actually got scared, and understandable, I would'nt want to get thrown out of a great site like afterdawn either, bieng carefull on these forums is our responsibilty I know, but to be scared is another matter, so I guess this goes to the moderator,yes please be more specific, what happined.

@FredBun - i was specific, and yes AD has lots of grey areas. it's all in the Forum Rules, i don't make the rules, i just try to follow and enforce them, for the good of everyone..

@creaky, OK, you were specific to rick, whatever happined both of you agree on, and thats great, but it still really didnt answer what I wanted to know, on exactly what rick did, and yes I just read the rules, pretty much commin sense stuff except for the torrent thing whatever that means, and also you are right, the way its written there can be a lot of gray area's, and I didnt want this to be a confrontational discussion like I dont make the rules etc. I very much understand your just doing your job, but this is why I question things, I want to know ahead of time before some moderator writes me and says hey you cant do that, I also get the felling you really do not want to get into more on the specifics probably for more reasons that you might want to get into, and thats ok, I have no problem with that, and I will leave it at that, and to end it, I will respect your autority and please respect my abilty to question, have a good one.
