@ FredBun..What I HAD DONE was post where to get [uTORRENT]..And where to go to get certain Software [demonoid.com] & a complete set of instructions on how to find it.I just got so sick of hearing about all the problems that everybody was having with the cave, and the pretty complex way that instructions have been given DVDFAB,VOB BLANKER some other PG Something, then run it through DVD Shrink [mind U I like DVD Shrink]..Then not got the right DVD FAB..Everything was just getting so F@%king complicated.when all anybody had to do was download [CloneDVD & AnyDVD]..That is all that is needed. Now this was just worded a little different but everthing that is mentioned now is what was in my post.Honestly as sticky as things are getting & as great as Afterdawn is I really understand why it was done. But honestly all I was trying to do was help.I just hope this post won't be taken as piracy & strickened from the records.Instead of strikeing the whole post I wish they would do the same thing as they do if somebody accidentaly post a serial number which is remove the serial but leave the post, all thats really needs to be is strike out a few words.Just a little to helpful I guess BUT HEY I'M YELLING ARSHOLES GET CloneDVD & AnyDVD NOT ONLY WILL IT DO THE JOB BUT IT WILL SHRINK IT TOOooo!!

the movie is a vhs tape that i copied into a mpeg file. I used my Hauppauge wintv2000 and used the (mpeg2 12.0MBit/sec)setting for the quality level.

The vhs tape is an old 1944 movie and i was trying to keep the best quality.

@ burbon..YAreally did'nt have to set it so high I record TV all the time at about 7 GIG for 2 hrs comes out good, but when I do VHS Movies, which is already better quality then TV I leave the programs do the chooseing..U might try TMPGEncDVD16 TO convert it to DVD format & add your chapters..then run it through Shrink, myself I'd use CloneDVD just a tad faster,& the burning engine it uses is great, this program has greatly been improved over the years..HOPE u did'nt take anything I wrote as being chippy or a smart ass GOOD LUCK

for God's sake give it a rest. i can't always promise to leave a post intact when i remove something; i do always try but do you ppl realise how many replies someone like me has to trudge thru ?. this is one teeny tiny thread mixed in with 100s i go thru every day.

Once rick5446 had replied after i had called it for what it was (piracy) i had gone back and reworded my reply from 'piracy' to 'those types of links aren't allowed'.

Now instead of leaving it at that we're now debating the point again.

None of this time is complicated (ripping the movies i mean), there are free programs that can do this and other movies, and/or there are paid for alternatives. Note the phrase 'paid for'.

For the last time, grey areas are one thing but downright blatant Piracy is another. Get it thru your heads so i don't have to waste time commenting on it again in this thread. We all know there are pirated programs/stuff out there, but that's the point, it's 'out there', and that's where it stays due to the Forum Rules

I totally agree with creaky in regards to this matter. Apparently, there are tons of great cracking engines out there such as AnyDVD, DVDIdle Pro, DVD Region+CSS Free and DVD43 (free). In addition, there are tons of free programs like DVDFAB Decrypter, DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, VobBlanker, PgcEdit, PSL2 plugin and FixVTS; these are very useful, if one (the individual) knows how to use it.

However, it is strongly "against" AD rule(s) when providing/talking about how to crack or hack AnyDVD. Of course, I strongly agree that AnyDVD is a great engine for bypassing/cracking encrypted protections (ie bad/fake cells or sectors), but providing the information on how to crack/hack AnyDVD is wrong and not acceptable, especially here, at AD. Anyone can freely refer hundreds of people to get AnyDVD as much as he/she desire and that is fine, but when he/she talked about getting (hacked/cracked) AnyDVD for free is against AD rule(s), therefore, it is not allowed.

I, for one, enjoy this community (AD forum) and would like to keep it clean and simple. I've learned a lot from this forum and have contributed a lot of experiences to help others as much as possible. With that being said, I'm here to help those that needed helps and of course I'm thrill to contribute the skills and experiences I've acquired to help fellow members at AD, not just today and tomorrow, but as long as I'm here.

Now can we all just stay on the topic aka "THE CAVE"? Or else please can a MOD close this thread? The information plus the ?2 guides? I've provided in this thread is far more than enough to successfully backup The Cave already. The simple answer is? if you don?t have the latest from AnyDVD, then get the latest DVDFAB Decrypter, then you should be fine. If you still can?t backup THE CAVE with DVDFAB Decrypter, AnyDVD or using the 2 simple guides I?ve provided, then just keep your original copy. I have no further comment.

C'mon creaky, do me a favor and put this thread to rest.
