Hello,
Right I have pulled all my resources (mainly the internet) and
I have decided, mainly in the interest of saving myself (and others) time in the long run, answering the same questions over and over and over again, to write a guide on how to load your legitimate ISO?s with fastloader and UMDEmulator ( i haven't included Dev Hook because the other two progs do the same thing - although if asked i will include it)
p.s there is also a guide on how to dump your games to the memstick
*PLEASE NOTE* I do not condone piracy and this guide should not be used to copy or play games that you do not own on an orginal UMD *PLEASE NOTE*
In this guide ?from top to bottom- I have used and you will need
PSP v1.5
1GB mem stick
Fastloader V0.7 http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/90 UMD emulator V0.8c http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/92
to install fastloader
Step 1. download fastloader from
Step 2. unzip fastloader
Step 3. connect your psp to your pc (remembering to put your psp in umd mode)
Step 4. once connected copy over the contents of fastloader (4 files) to your psp ROOT directory. If its says PSP already exists just click yes (don?t worry you want lose what is already in there
to create an ISO
Step 1. Copy existing ISO file into ISO directory on your Memory Stick
Step 2. make sure you have a UMD in
Step 3. Go to the Game Menu
Step 4. go to memory stick and press X
Step 5. Select fastloader and press X
Step 6. the fast loader menu will load
Step 7. select dump inserted UMD
Step 8. OH F*** everything is being deleted
Step 9. once it load press X (Make sure you have enough space on your mem stick, if not the file will seem to be complete but will be F***ed)
If your mem stick isn?t big enough you can split the files into parts and transfer them during the dumping project
i. Use the left/right button to specify the size of the RAR file to create
ii. Use the up button to enable/disable USB connection to PC
Step 11. once dumping is complete hold up the power button for 6 seconds (ish)
to play an iso
Step 1. load fastloader using steps 1 to 6
Step 2. select the game iso from the menu and press X
UMD emulator 0.8c
Step 1. install UMD emulator using the included instructions
Step 2. put your ISO file in the \ISO directory on your PSP
Step 3. go to mem stick on your psp and select
Step 3.Select the ISO that you want to play and press X (you need a UMD in your PSP). It will then bring you to the PSP menu screen
For film iso's:
CPU/Bus speed : 222/111 Mhz
ISO Emulation Mode : system menu
Disctype ISO : video
Disctype UMD : video
Updater icon : remove
Use boot.bin : off
Regioncode override : off (this setting disables the next three settings)
Flash0 emulation : off
Flash1 emulation : off
For game iso's:
CPU/Bus speed : 222/111 Mhz
ISO Emulation Mode : direct load
Disctype ISO : video
Disctype UMD : video (youll want to change this to game if your using a game umd)
Updater icon : remove
Use boot.bin : off
Regioncode override : off (this setting disables the next three settings)
Flash0 emulation : off
Flash1 emulation : off
with thanks to renhoek03 for pointing out the settings he used - which i have included above
Step 4. go up to UMD and press X it will now launch your ISO
RAR FILES
for those of you that dont know (NOOBS) if you get a file that isn't RAR and says something like .001 or .000 (and so on) these can easily be opened by selecting open with > winRAR then jsut extracting like normal
*PLEASE NOTE* I do not condone piracy and this guide should not be used to copy or play games that you do not own on an orginal UMD *PLEASE NOTE*
Also please do not start new threads asking about these two programs, please post in this thread. And do not ask about downloading games ? not only is it illegal and not allowed in these forums but I will not tell you
Hope this helps
goodbye

Hi All, ive just noticed this thread and maybe you can help. i have tried the method above and the only thing that is baffling me is that when i unzip the files using WinRAR i cant seem to find the iso file. i have UMD_DATAa bin file then a folder which named psp-game which contains PARAM.SFO SND0.AT3 ICON1.PMF files plus 2 image icons then 2 folders 1 called SYSDIR and the other USRDIR. SYSDIR contains boot files and sfo and the other has movies and moduals. but knowwhere can i find iso files. can anyone offer any advice. cheers Alscds

But when you make a dump with Fastloader, in my case, i have 4 parts.
How do I rebuild a iso from those four files?

Is there any way to dump an iso from a UMD directly to your PC hard disk rather than to the memory stick? I am guessing no right, because you can't have fastloader running and the USB mode running at the same time?
USA Factory 1.5 > 2.71 SE-C > 3.03 OE-C, 4GB Sandisk + 1GB Sandisk, D-Pad Mod, SNES 9x_TYL 0.4.2, DGEN 1.70, NesterJ 1.11, DDR Mix V.1, PSP Revolution v.03 Anime, currently playing - Tony Hawk's Project 8, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, WSC 2007

USB mode is running while Fastloader is dumping...
You can set that with 'triangle'.
That's how I dump, place on the computer (parts), and fastloader is alread busy with the other dumps (parts)
But nope you can't dump directly to the pc.

Hi guys,
Do all back-up ISOs work? Or is this only limited to certain games? I notice there are a
few
different loaders - Fastloader/UMD emulator/some others - are some good for some
games
and others for certain others? I'm in the middle of dumping Burnout Legends, I want to
avoid
those insane loading times.
Thanks.
P.S. A *HUGE* thank you to the thread creator, you have been extremely helpful :-)
EDIT 2: I dumped Crash Tag Racing and then tried running it from Fastloader. I selected it,
after a few seconds, the PSP switches off. Any ideas? My filename is "Crash Tag Team
Racing". There is no .iso on the end, but it is obviously an iso file. I did a direct dump
with Fastloader, no splitting involved. Any help would be greatly appreciated :-)
