I recently installed a Lite On 1633s DVD burner which is capable of using DVD DL media.
Unfortunatley when I try to burn to a single layer disk in Shrink the write speed options are only 1x 2x or 2.4x. These speeds pertain to a dual layer disk and i would like to have my old options for single layer write speeds still available i.e. 2x 4x 8x etc.
I have tried configuring with the preferences option in shrink unsucessfully.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Put a disk in the burner and then do the speed options test. Shrink will find the speeds then

What exactly do you mean?
Where is the speed options test?
Nero you mean?
Thanks

When you click on backup> burn setting > make sure if you are using Nero you set the speed there. In Imgburn or DVDDecrypter you set the speed in those programs in the Mode> iso>write ( look on the lower right of the GUI) and then use Shrink. If all else fails uninstall Shrink and then re-boot and then reinstall Shrink.

Did you put a blank DVD in the burner and then go to backup

I still have the original dvd in the drive as i was trying to do the old one click back up in shrink! What would you suggest?
I had ripped war of the worlds in decrypter and then opened the files in shrink earlier. I managed to "cheat" with that one by changing the media type to DVD-9 then manually compressed the main files to 4.4gb and burned. I thought this could be a permenant work around as it actually allowed me to burn 4x, my prefered speed. Unforntunatley wedding crashers is too large a disk to try this one on. Plus i would like a permenant fix.

Well what do you know!? I was trying do the proccess using one drive the dvd R drive as i thought i was having issues with the secondary dvd rom drive.
When i insert the original in the rom drive and the blank disk in the burner, the options allow for me to burn to single layer speed.
This was the first time trying the single drive method so i suppose that is why it was not seeming to work!
Incidentlly how would you use shrink if you only had one drive? Rip dvd first?
Thanks every one, this was starting to wear me down!

If I remember correctly as it has been a few years since I had 1 DVD drive Shrink will ask you to insert the DVD after the rip to HD and the compression
