Hi all,
I just bod a Sony DVD+-RW/+-R/cd dual layer dvd writer and I can't copy copy-protected DVDs. I've figured out that I need Shrink to do that, but I can't even figure out how to open the shrink zip file. Every time I try my computer asks me what application I want to open it with and I don't know.
Help please :)

Do u have an zip extractor like WinRAR? If u need a freeware zip prog go to snapfiles.com and get zip genius.

I'd also suggest u get dvddecrypter and dvdfab decrypter for the movies shrink can't copy.

If you got windows xp, it comes with it's own extracting utility. Right click on the zip file and choose extract all, make a note of where the file is being extracted to, there you'll find the install file(shrink .exe), just double click on it to install shrink.

If you don't have windows xp, then you'll need WinZIP to extract the file.

Thanks, I downloaded Zipgenius and it got Shrink running. Now, I have another question. I've been copying DVDs through shrink, what do I have to do to decode them and burn through Nero?

Once Shrink has finished it's a pretty simple process. Check out this guide on using Nero to burn dvds.
