DVD Shrink stops at 94% encoding

Error message reads:
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Failed to write file "VTS_01_4.VOB"
There is not enough space on the disk

I have plenty of space on the hard drive.

Also it is ripping as a Roxio image file, but when I use Roxio to to copy to a blank DVD it is stating it cant read the file and lists all the applicable extensions. When I place the file in the box to copy it does have the ISO extension.

This is wierd please help!!!

what movie are you shrinking? Did you copy movie to HD first before trying to shrink? if you did, what software did you use to do it? are you shrinking "movie only" or whole DVD?

I didnt copy the movie the the HD I analysed and backed up, ISO file was selected on the back up preferences

Well i'm no expert in Roxio, but it seems to me that you might have done everything right. Except, that you have to shrink that file to fit on a single layer disk. You are not burning on a double layer disk are you? It doesn't matter how much space you have on your hard drive if you trying to burn it on a dvd that doesnt have enough space to fit on.

Its not burning thats the problem, it is not fully encoding

Shrink is getting a little old to handle the newer copy protections. The best way to backup a DVD is to use a program like DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD running in the background, and make a FULL DVD copy to your hard drive first, then use shrink to make it smaller. I know it takes a little longer, but your results will be better. I have been doing my backups this way for a long time now, and haven't had any problems.

I have figured it out! I changed my file system to ntfs and it fixed both issues, it rips perfectly due to allowing to bypass the 4gb maximum file size. And Roxio copys to a DVD-R perfectly. Thanks for your help
