Is it normal for shrink to take 1.5 hours to backup?

Welcome to the forum. It depends on if you are using Deep Analysis and the AEC settings. If you are then those times are about right

It depends on the computer but if you add all of the times up they are over 1 hour and that is not doing the burn. In the Shrink example you brought up_ 1. 39 minutes to do deep analysis and 2. then using AEC Sharp ( which is the fastest) 44 minutes to do that part. That is fairly close to 1 1/2 hours as most DVD's are compressed 30 % or more (depending on how you re-author the dvd or do the full backup) If Max Smoothness is used then there is alot more time spent on the transcoding . On my System it is approx 1/2 the time above if I did the movie they did on the Shrink site but since no computer specs were given by missliz you have to figure out they have a system specs in the 2. ghz range
