DVD Shrink question

Hello all

Just a quick question. I normally use AnyDVD to copy across to my hard drive. The other day someone told me I can use DVD shrink to copy and shrink without using AnyDVD. I did try this and sure enough it shrank it to 4.35gb and I burnt the file to disk. It is a workable copy. Do I need to use AnyDVD?

DVDshrink is no longer supported and/or updated, because of this there will be DVDs that it will not be able to backup. Some new releases are copy protected with Sony's ARccOS or Microvision's RipGuard encryption, DVDshrink will not be able to rip these DVDs alone, it's going to need some help, that's where AnyDVD comes in, it runs in the backround to help shrink crack the encryption so that you can get your backup. You can also use AnyDVD with DVD Decrypter for ripping, decrypter is also an ISO burner that works with shrink to burn the image to disk.

I always leave AnyDVD running in the background, that way no matter what disc I put in I know DVD Shrink will work it's magic without any problems.

But if you want you can just use DVD Shrink, but as mentioned above some of the newer movies will not work and you'll have to start AnyDVD.
