when i try to backup menace ii society the screen pops up and says dvd shrink encountered an error and cannot continue, invalid dvd navigation structure, what can i do?

I tried to back it up but mine have too many scratches already but i know it has protection.I think thats why that happened to you.It has a macrovision protection.I think that DVD Decrypter would take care of it by itself.I can be wrong but try to decrypt the movie with decrypter.Cant hurt trying.Then use shrink and burn as you always do.Or try with AnyDVD as well. good luck.

for such an old movie, seems like shrink would rip right through it like a hot knife through butter.
perhaps the copyright protection...
try running it through programs such a AnyDVD (running in the background) or dvdfab or dvd43
see if it works, then run it through shrink again.
