I have just purchased a LG double layer burner and up graded the firmware. I have burnt 4.7 discs no problem but when i put in a dl disc it came up as UNABLE TO BURN TO THIS KIND OF DISC it said there was a cd-r in the error message then dissappeared.
Has anyone had this problem and solved it. If so could you please tell me how you solved the problem thx
yes...i bought the burner from ebuyer its a LG GSA-4167BA 16x DVD±RW/RAM Dual Layer Internal with great reviews. Could you tell me if the duel layer discs have compatabilty problems at all? i used Infiniti® Dual Layer 8.5GB DVD+R with no success :-(
There should be no problem burning with the burner you have, but you may have trouble watching them on your standalone player. Almost all older and quite a few new model DVD players don't read them.
You don't have to change anything on Shrink to burn a dl disc. What you might want to chage in Shrink is the target size option when you're backing up discs.
Edit > Preferences > Target DVD size
Secondly, Nero does not do any of the burning its self. It either sends an ISO to DVDDecrypter, or burns VOBs with Nero. What are you using as burning software?
Thank you all for your sugestions, i decided to take the discs back and purchass some Verbatim DVD-R duel layer discs.
Managed to burn a film ...no problem using the same burning programs......think that the discs i bought first of all are not conpatible with my burner.
Anyway, thanx again all :-)

If you plan on burning to DL media, I suggest you use decrypter in ISO read mode to have an ISO image created on your HDD, then you can use decrypter or Imgburn to burn the image to disk. Decrypter or Imgburn seem to do the best job when it comes to burning to DL media.
