When I change the extras to still images and then burn the compilation, I pop the dvd into a player the first thing that comes up is the "this video has been removed" picture. I have to fish for the root menu, it takes a couple seconds to get to it after I have pressed the menu button two or three times.

why go through the trouble of changin them to still images when you can just re-author and save the movie only. ?

I do this for my girlfriend and she wants the dvd menus, that is why i choose to do it that way, is there any way to fix this problem?, i had the same thing happen to another movie.

Try MenuShrink. Will shrink a menu way down but leave buttons working. The extras as still image I never had a problem with.

thank you for all your help, i actually reformated my computer and i will try one more time to change the extras into still images, if its a no go then ill do it your way :D, thanks

Shrink is working correctly. The option "still image" replaces any video you choose with a still image. By default, Shrink will replace the chosen video that you are replacing with the grey screen that says "This video has been removed", but you can browse for a different image if you wish. If you are choosing still imgage for the entire "extras" folder, this normally includes the initial fbi warnings and what not, this is why your DVD is starting out with this screen, because you chose to replace all extras, including FBI warnings and previews with this still image. My suggestion would be to either use "Still pictures" rather than "still image", this will still play the audio, but rather than video, you will see still pictures of the video being replaced, this is simply used to save space. Or you can open the extras folder, and click on each individual Title, the preview window will show what that title is for, and you can use "still image" to replace only those specific titles with an image, rather than everything in the folder. Also, if you are doing this to save space, bigt1's suggestion to use MenuShrink would be a great route also (can be used in combination with the previous suggestions) and it only takes a few moments to process.
