My computer crashed and had to reinstall dvd shrink, dvd decryptor and anydvd. Shrink is slow and jerky. Have read some threads and checked out what was done about other problems. I have the DMA enabled in the device manager, am not using any enhancements, don't have multi-task checked. Still is slow and jerky and takes more time than it did before. Also uninstalled and reinstalled, did defrag and cleanup. Still slow.

Give me some specs on your CPU, RAM, OS, HDD, any optical discs, whatever else may be running on your computer.

Looking at the stock specifications of a 505n, you have a 2.2Ghz Celeron, which is good enough. Riddle me this:
1) How much space is left on your hard drive
2) What other programs do you have running while using Shrink
3) DVD drive info, make/model, max speed, etc.

Just throwing an idea out there, since you already covered most of the bases, have you tried cleaning inside the tower? Like blow out all the dust and thoroughly cleaning it with alcohol/water? If not, run a diagnostics thing to check everything is working properly.

Do you have Norton firewall? MY girlfriend had it and it slowed every thing down and was jerke7y. I got rid of it and it works fine.
