Hi,
I am struggling with problematic DVD copies and although I and using TY blank media which are reportedly the best I still get movies stopping/freezing/skipping in the last chapter or two.
I have always used DVDShrink and lately I have tried almost every type of software out there including AnyDVD, DVDFab, Nero 6.6, Clone DVD2,VOBBlanker and DVD Decrypter still to have troubled copies.
My two dvd drives I am told are some of the best also, the first being a Plextor PX-504A and my latest addition is a Sony DW-Q30A which is a dual layer writer.
Therefore, can anyone please tell me which software to use and what other programs to use in conjunction with it so that I can enjoy almost flawless copies just as others in this forum claim to have and of course i would have to accept a small percantage of errors cause lets face it we all need coasters but I am getting about 50% bad and they all check out until i get 9/10ths of the way through watching them.
All the best,
Doug

Sounds like a burn speed issue. What speed are you burning at?

Can you post your last Nero log here, then someone will be able to assist you.
Otherwise it's only guesswork what the problem may be.

Burning at Max speed I think and I'm guessing that this may be where ther problems lie. Should i slow down the burning to 2.4 perhaps?

I've had problems with Maxell +R, and the printable TDK +R (100% were bad backups). The non printable TDKs are pretty good. I've had the BEST backups with, believe it or not, Fuji Film +R.

Yes, change your burn speed to 4x. This should clear up your issues at the end of the burn process.

How close to the edge are you burning since it's the last chapters that are problematic. Try setting at 4300.

If the compression is high ( I consider high 75% and above) use the Deep Analysis and AEC controls, these settings may smooth out the problems you are experiencing.
