Good Point as I had not thought of that. I know Verbatims sends disks to the various companies for them to write firmware for but you think HP on a new burner the firmware for 16X Verb's should be there. Went to HP's site and trying to find the blank media that is approved for that burner, those people really need help in writing the website

my burner likes Verbatim because I have burn with Verbatim Dual Layers

my burners it's a Memorex DVD+/-DLRWL16 D2-15

Hi Car.Mike, I'm still having that problem with the Verbatims. I update the firmware and it's giving me the error again(The write speed I use this time was 6x)(I use DVD Drecypter). This is the error:


I/O Error

Interpretation: Check Condition

Interpretation: write(10) - Sectors: 114176 - 114207

Sense Area: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 2C 00 00 00 00 00
Interpretation: Command Sequence Error

Here is the info I found out about that error:

This error appears if the writer firmware or the mainboard drivers are too old to accept control instructions from DVDDecrypter. So you updated the burner are the Mobo drivers up to date

It is either the drive fails to write it or another program is interfering w/ the burn

I know the media you are using is Verbatim but the burner just might not like them

If you have AnyDVD disable it

I don't think it's the Verbatim because, I backup two xbox games in a Verbatim Dual Layer Disc.
