DVD Shrink shuts down my computer

DVD shrink use to work fine on my computer but now the rate will speed up just to fall back down so far that it shuts down my computer. I upgraded my ram to 768 today which might have delayed it shuting down a couple of minutes. Has anyone had this problem or does anyone know what i can do to fix it. The same thing happens when i try and use Clonedvd2.

could be overheating. transcoding programs are very cpu intensive and build a lot of heat. remove your case cover and make sure all fans are working especially the cpu fan. also blow it out good with compressed air especially the cpu heatsink.

I think that Mort81 is hitting the nail right on the head. Cleaning the machine out will only improve the systems ability to dispell the heat build up that shrinks cpu usage creates.
