I am interested in more information regarding ShrinkTo5. I read the information on the site that Johnl123 gave us - but having no prior knowledge regarding it, I would like to hear from anyone who has used it. Is it better than Shrink? DVDFab? DVD Decrypter? Can it burn with Nero, even if it has its own burn process - and is it easy to use - since I am one who needs step by step. Thanks for the help!
If speed is what you're after, then just unchecked "DA and AEC" and it should be done within 30 - 40 minutes.
If you're the few that owned any 50" or higher HDTV, EDTV, Plasma TV, then it's wise to use "DA + AEC: Max Sharpness or Max Smoothness (DVD Shrink's Quality Enhancements)", this process will take longer, but you'll be happy with the picture quality in results.
I can have DVD Shrink to successfully transcode and compress any dvd within 30 - 45 minutes easily. However, speed is not what I'm after, it's just a waste of time using my genuine YUDEN media only because I owned a 55" SONY Widescreen HDTV and I can wait 1 hr - 1 hr + 25 mins while using "DA + AEC".
If you have Nero Recode 2, then it's much faster than DVD Shrink. Even if you use "AA + HQSR", Recode still get the job done within 45 minutes only. For any movies/dvds that required a lot of compressions (50% or more), I'll just have DVD Rebuilder Pro + CCE SP to handle the job. It's definitely not a joke to encode a movie though, it can take up to 2 hrs - 3 & 1/2 hrs just to encode one movie.
