I used DVD Decrypter in file mode, then rebuilt with DVD-RB. Looks fantastic.

Is the disc loaded, to warrant the use of DVD Rebuilder?
I only use DVD Rebuilder on discs that have a compression of about 55-65, AND it's a movie I really love/want.
Otherwise, I use Shrink with the deep analysis and quality controls.

The one I have is a 2 disc set, with just the movie on one disc, and the features on another.
Compression was pretty high. Don't remember the exact figure though.
Anyway, DVD-RB worked great.

I have the single disc edition. To do a full backup, even with things ommitted, the compression percentage was somewhere in the low 50's. :(
Since I'm a big fan of the movie, I'm gonna use DVD Rebuilder on it.

Main movie only with 5.1 audio only and no subtitles was around the mid-70's with CloneDVD2/AnyDVD. I got around 78% with Recode2/AnyDVD. Both copies turned out great, though... The edge goes to Recode2. I view on a 52-inch widescreen HDTV. I am going to make another copy with DVDRebuilderPro later...

JARHEAD has the latest RipGuard from MacroVision. However, DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.7.2 should be able to handle it easily.
<1> I ripped it with DVDFAB Decrypter (took 12 minutes).
<2> VobBlanker 2.1.1.0B1 to "process" the VIDEO_TS.IFO file (took me 5 minutes), also blank out those 2/3 fbi warnings, rating logos/screens, previews/trailers and some extra scenes.
<3> encoded with DVDRebuilder Pro + CCE SP (2 hrs 35 minutes)
<4> burned with Nero Burning Rom (8 minutes with 8X DVD+R YUDEN000T02)
Results: perfect backup, tested and watched via 55" Widescreen SONY HDTV, quality is awesome, no glitches whatsoever. Sweet!!

I did the entire backup with DVD Rebuilder. It looks great! Considering that it was a low 50's percentage, to the untrained eye, you won't notice a difference. I can only tell the minor pixelation when standing 5 inches in front of TV.

AnyDVD and Shrinks alone will not work w/ Jarhead?

No, it will. Especially if it's the newest version of AnyDVD. The only reason I (along with the other guys here) suggest DVD-Rebuilder is because of quality purposes. DVD-Rebuilder does a MUCH better job of encoding than Shrink.

I watched the Jarhead DVD. The best part of the movie that I got to see my face for a few seconds was the shooting in the air scene near the end of the movie. I was standing behind Fergus so you can see me very excited right there.
AnyDVD and CloneDVD for life.
