ok i download the sid[1].4.0.nknave.edition.xbox-hq.rar file thingy and everythings fine untill i tryy to double click it like it says it doesnt let me it says "windows cannot open this file" wtf can some one help ive been trying to soft mod forr like 2 years now plz

I have read in a few places that the latest softmods will allow any sized hard drives to be used. Has anyone here had experience with the latest softmods on large drives?
I am interested in getting a 750GB drive to work. I think I am currently running an older softmod. I am having a data corruption problem after 250GB. I have tried using the XBpartition software to make F&G drives with 32Kbit clusters but I receive a "LBA48 info not found" warning that says that I can't make custom partitions without updating my bios.
If the most recent softmod will not solve my problem, is there any way to update the bios without chipping the box?
My XBOX is a v1.0, thanks for your help.

Not unless you know what you are doing! It's very simple, and pretty difficult for it to "break" your Xbox. Common sense and following a tutorial works wonders.

Anybody left posting here lol ??? If so I followed this guide to the exact word and everything has worked so far except for one thing once I go into the splinter cell game click Linux the click CHECKPOINTS twice the xbox freezes on me.... I read all the posts and I have found nothing that helps. Hopefully you guys will be able to help me out. Thanks for the great guide.

All i can think of so far is to double check the 2 Splinter save files

Here is where I got the Splinter Cell saves & the other goodies from and thanks for writing back I was hoping you would still be here.

Ok I don't think its' the save files anymore I was hoping that it would be just that easy but I think I might need some serious help LOL :(
I believe my Xbox dashboard got updated without me knowing it... Stupid Microsoft did a patch to fix the Linux crack. There is some hope though if my kernal is less than 5713 then there is a way to convert the box back to D:4920 <--- Xbox Dash board Version.
Do you think this is the problem and if so do you have any guides on how to convert the box back to 4920. OR does the dashboard version not even matter and I'm still over looking something. :( Damn Microsoft!

I can't remember what version the ms dash needs to be, but you can rule that out with the 'clean' dash files from that same link i posted..

Shouldn't make a bit of difference with REPUTABLE saves.. only the hookey messed about ones that tend to come from rapidshare and the like.
FYI.. there are 2 versions of the splinter cell ndure exploit.. PAL and NTSC. You need to have the right version, and make sure there is no other splinter cell saved information on your xbox hdd before you start.

Thanks for the reply varnull and that is another thing I didn't know ( No Other Saves Under Splinter Cell ) does that mean that there cant be a profile that I have saved playing splinter cell if so that might be the problem :) :) For the NTSC I got that part down in a snap.

Sorry I would not know how to work the gameshark method as everyone used AR. as for the last poster when the led is RED it is NOT safe to go xbox live. it needs to be Green.
the latest ms dash board is 5960, if you have an earlier version your xbox will crash thats why your spliter cell wont work.
