Hey all, this must be a record, had a power failure, got back up and running to find that my pc has lost all adsl drivers and now shrink will encode but wont utilise nero as a burning agent.

I can however use nero to burn music/data and encoded avi through the recode facility .

Check the log and see what you suggest. The obvious is the dma settings on my hard drives have now been turned to off, and i have done a restore to no avail and also done a check disc which came up error free.

what do you all suggest

heres a partial log:

Is your drive internal or external - if internal it appears that your ATAPI drivers may need to be reinstalled.

Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ?

Have you had success with this version in the past?
Quote:
Nero API version: 6.6.1.4
As you may well know, that version is a bit buggy...try reverting back to 6.6.0.18

http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe

Either mirror will do.

Ver 6.6.1.4 does not autoburn with Shrink, you need to go back to 6.6.0.18.

First download this program to completely rid all remnants of nero off your harddrive:

http://www.nero.com/nero6/de/Nero_6_Clean_Tool.html

Go into add/remove programs, uninstall nero. Then run nero cleantool 6.
Then download nero again, and leave out the INCD packet. You'll need nero burning rom to autoburn with dvd shrink. For some reason,I couldn't get dvd shrink to autoburn when I downloaded nero express onto my cousin's pc with a 6.3.?.? version.

Also go into device manager under IDE-ATA/Atapi controllers. You have a couple of them turned off. I don't know about the raid controller, but the maxtor is in pio mode. Click advanced tab and uninstall driver for that maxtor and reboot. Not sure about the raid controller, you may have to do the same for it? But that oem disc looked oblong where you see all the data on the bottom of it.I love those OEM discs!

Last,go into dvd shrink's backup options/target device drive/select backup target. Make sure your dvd-rw drive is set along with nero to autoburn with a checkmark. That setting may have gotten knocked off during the power outage. At least you didn't get a black screen after that power outage! LOL
