Please Help me:
When backing up a dvd (On this occasion Hitch - But fault is not paticular to any disc) When encoding (at 3,200 kb/s) Shrink freezes the PC and the only way to get out is to reset PC. I have 2.8ghz processor and 768mb ram (1x 256 1x 512) I cannot back up any of my dvds - dvd decrypter completes fine but dvd fab decrypter freezes aswell. please help, this is driving me insane!!

Try using a better decryption program.
I use AnyDVD (free 21 day trial),
Free Lifetime updates with purchase.
http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html?aid=50022
It will solve your problems.

It works well with Dvd shrink so you wont have to decrypt the movies
to your hard drive anymore. (saves time and disk space.)
Cheers.

pete1014 ,
That movie is on the problematic list at the DVDShrink site. Do what Jizmak suggested and use AnyDVD($39.00) as it runs in the background or use DVDFAB Decrypter ( free) to rip the DVD to HD

pete1014,
Ripping the files to HD using AnyDVD is usually used for the real problem DVD's. Try it this way as it will work:

1. Make sure the foxes head in the lower right taskbar is red
2. Insert DVD into DVD-Rom or burner. On the lower right in the taskbar you will see the foxes head go from red to pale and when it turns back red then you start Shrink and then process it that way( read from the disk). You do not have to use the rip to HD feature unless you just want to

D/L a free registry cleaner and clean the registry as that sometimes helps w/ the conflicts

Run Memtest and see if it locks up the computer: http://www.memtest86.com/

Turn of the computer and ground yourself. Now open up the side of the computer and clean out the dust bunnies. While there make sure all of the cables are connected properly and seated. You can used the compressed air that you buy in the can to blow the dust

Hi all,
Have done what you said with ANY DVD, then opned up with shrink, it's encoding now, very stop/start video preview. 1,800kb/s speed reading. I've run several registry fix programs. I'll be back on the board tomorrow (GMT) I'd just like to than all for their comments so far - Please keep 'em coming!I'm beginning to think it may be hardware problem instead?Any ideas???I've googled my problem but there doesn't seem to be any of a similar nature. Thanks Again.
