Shrink Sound Problems - No DTS sound

Hi, I have been using DVD Shrink for a year or two now and have only recently encountered the following problem. This problem occured when attempting to backup new (so I know it is not a scratch or dirty DVD issue) copies of Sin City and Glengary Glenn Ross.

After the SW recognizes and opens the disk the sound options are all pre-checked with the exception of English DTS. So I re-authored both and then manually checked the DTS option (and kept all of the other English sound options checked as well). The DVDs burnt fine but there is no sound. Anyone ever have this problem? I burnt Sin City three times and Glen twice. All times I got no sound.

Are you running AnyDVD in the background? Some people have said that for some reason if you have AnyDVD running in the background with the "Remove Annoying Adverts..." option selected, the sound will not work on some discs until you uncheck that option and re-rip/encode. Could be just a rumor but if you are running AnyDVD, it might be something to try before wasting mroe dics.

Thanks but I was running the trial version of AnyDVD but have not purchased the pay version (and it has expired). I will see if that could be it, but I didn't have the option you mentioned checked. Thanks for something to try.

You may want to search around the forums to see if that was exactly what it was. It's never happened to me so I don't know personally, just going off of what others have posted and my memory. And like I said, it might not have even been that which was causing problems, maybe try closing AnyDVD completely and see if that does anything. different. Good luck.

Alright I solved my own problem. It was a stupid mistake on my part. As I said the DTS English option shows up but it is unchecked. For some reason shrink must not be able to read that so when I manually checked it shrink must have put a blank track on there for DTS. From reading other postings I learned that DTS will override the other sound tracks but since it was blank I got no sound. I just thought I'd post a follow-up in case anyone else runs into this issue. I was able to successfully burn Glengarry using that method. I am going to try Sin City again as well but don't anticipate any problems.
