Im a newbie and need help! i read a bit online about decrypting...and am still confused. i want to make a backup dvd. i have installed both dvd decrypter and dvd shrinker(newest version) on my computer. do i use both, just one.. how exactly do i start the process. i went through a couple tests tries... and ruined five blank dvds. i tried using only dvd shrinker. i follow the instructions.. make an ISO file, and follow through with encoding. i then burn to dvd with my dell burner. when i try to play the disc on my dvd player (attached to tv), it says "no disc". what am i doing wrong??

Hi ria05. First, DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter no longer handle todays newer encryptions. You may want to try the free AnyDVD 21 day trial.

DVD Shrink is the easier program of the two, not that DVD Decrypter is really any harder. You only need one transcoding software title. But as noted above, you need updated decryption software.

Also, make sure your standalone DVD player can handle the DVD's you are using. For example, some DVD players won't recognize DVD+ media. If your burner supports booktyping, by all means booktype DVD+ media to DVD-ROM. DVD- media does not support booktyping.
