I have been using The Shrink/decrypter (bbmayo Method) for many a movie. But lately their has been more and more flicks I am unable to rip with the Decrypter. I wonder if the technology is being passed up. Has anybody else been having any problems too? And, what other program(s) would you recomend. I really enjoyed how easy those two were. Keep that in mind, oh ya and they were free. Thanks ---zen-->
Unfortunatly neither is updated any more for freeware you can add vobblanker to your tools it will remove the new sony protection or you could buy AnyDVD it will filter out the protection The downloads are on my page follow the link in my sig
Anydvd is a program worth the price. There's a $5 discount for us AD members going on till april 1. If you purchase it,you'll have to locate that discount code somewhere here to enter to save 5 clams.
It works in the background. When you see the little red fox in your lower utility tray, then it is working. No extra steps. Backup using your normal DVD Shrink to DVD Decrypter process.
There's a free 21 day trial.
BTW: It does cd encryptions and makes suppose to make your drives region free. Also updated very regularly!
Decryptor and Shrink haven't been update for god knows how many years now. It's not a secret. But if you have AnyDVD, you won't have a problem (a majority of the time that is).
Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie
Some of the new releases with the sony Arccoss still read as being non-compliant after a successful rip with AnyDVD + DVD Decrypter. That's when VobBlanker or FixVTS come into play. Process the ripped files with one of those and then the files should be DVD compliant. FixVTS is my favorite for ease of use. They're both freeware. In fact AnyDVD now has a ripper incorporating FixVTS, but I still prefer using DVDD and using FixVTS as necessary.
So If I just have any dvd in the back ground, I can use shrink/decrypter the same way? That's probably what I'll do. Ya I know it is not a secret that they haven't been updating them. But, up until recently I haven't had one movie I could not rip. All the threads : Spanglish, and every other movie that had a thread never no problem. So thanks guys I will give any dvd a try. ---zen-->
That's right, they run as they did before, but with AnyDVD doing the work on the copyright protection. Some of the new releases, such as "The Fog" have the Sony Arccoss copyright protection that causes the files to appear non-compliant to the recording software. Remember that some of the new releases had to be run through FixVTS (or VobBlanker) to make the ripped files compliant. So keep that in mind if you run into a situation of that sort.
Slysoft recommends turning off CSS cracking and check for structure protection and have SPTI selected (DVD Decrypter Settings).
