I have used DvdShrink for a couple of years, with good results. I have the "final" version. I also run the latest Anydvd + Nero 7, wich I use for burning after ripping w. Shrink.
However, two of my late backups had errors: - the film just stopped, the player re-read the disk a few times - and whent on playing.
What causes thees freezes?
- Is there an issue with Shrink/Nero 7 combination?
- How is Nero recode compared to Shrink? (Pros/cons)
- Any issue concering Nero 7 ad Anydvd?

let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\NeroHistory but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '5C80' or similar.
You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

are these the first 2 times you've done dual layer burns in Nero ?. Nero 6.x isn't very reliable for dual layer (doesn't handle the layer break very well) but as to Nero 7, don't know how good that is for the layer break

well i would suggest not doing on the fly until the root cause is pinpointed.

Quote: - Is there an issue with Shrink/Nero 7 combination?
- no, only Shink and Nero 6.6.1.4 have an issue - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/317495Quote: - How is Nero recode compared to Shrink? (Pros/cons)
- i don't use Recode, however i believe it's faster and (maybe) better quality than Shrink. the guy who wrote Shrink now works on Recode
