Hi all. I have used dvd shrink before on my laptop and installed it on my moms computer. I tried using DVD shrink to back up a new DVD and it said "invalid dvd navigation structure". I dont know if it has anything to do that we have seperate hard drives (a C and D drive)...and two disk drives (E drive is for DVD+W and F drive is just to play DVD's). I don't know what else the problem is. does anyone know what to do or another shrink program? I tried old and new orignial DVD's and nothing works

DVD shrink can't handle the copy protection on the disk you're trying to backup, use DVDFab decrypter first instead.

Get it here:
http://www.dvdidle.com/download/DVDFabDecrypter29.exe

Use DVDFab to rip the files to your HDD, it will create a VIDEO_TS folder and put all the video files in it. DVDFab is a whole movie ripper only, so you're getting everything on the disk ripped to you're HDD, once DVDFab is done, run DVD shrink. Use DVD shrink to open the files created by DVDFab (use the open files tab and browse to the VIDEO_TS folder created by DVDFab and choose it), at this point shrink will import the files, use shrink as you normally would to create your backup.

VOBB would be able to help too, I think. If not, DVDFab, for sure, will get it done.

Any suggestions?

Looks like you'll need to process the files created by DVDFab Thru vobblanker first then open the newly created files with DVD shrink.

Get vobblanker here:
http://members.aol.com/posunplugged/jsoto/VobBlanker_2100_exe.zip

For Input Video Manager selection, just browse to VIDEO_TS created by DVDFab and choose the VIDEO_TS.IFO file.

For Output Folder selection, pick a location to store the files vobblanker will create (create a folder and give it the name of the movie, create another folder inside that one and name it VIDEO_TS, put the new files in that VIDEO_TS folder).

Press PROCESS and wait.

Open those files using DVDshrink.

@davrave and trvlmaven
If you've tried using DVDFab, Vobblanker, and then shrink, but are sill unable to backup your movie, then it's possible you may have a bad press causing sectors on the disk to be unreadable. I suggest you return the DVD and exchange it for another, then try and get a backup from that one.
