in most cases sony cant even tell if its fake
at quick glance even the bords look close
a way for u to easly kno is that the real ones are almost impossable to open when the fake ones easlyopen because they use cheap glue.

I'm not sure how accurate this guide is
My stick comes in at 1950, and I've used it a hell of lot and nothing. I bought. Also, it came with a warrenty card... so either way, if its fake, that means a warrenty card is no guarantee, or the size stipulation is wrong

Yeah, I just registered my Sandisk 2GB MS Pro Duo... 1950mb is a proper size for a sandisk at least; probably should be added to the guide.

Yes, to tell you the truth, I found the guide on ebay and thought it be a goo idea to post here because loads of peopole come here about if the memory stick is fake.
And I never said I own the guide, if you saw the first post it said, the intro of what I wrote, and then I showed the guide.

Actually after reading the guide a bit more, I see it only pretains to Sony MS. As such, just so people know, the sandisk 2 GB clocks in at 1949 (I assume 1950 pre format)
Above all else, do not buy from Asia. And the price in the guide is dated, even at best buy a 2 GB isn't that much.

It's cause there making room for the 4 gig MPSD, so chuck out your 4 gig hard drives from DATEL lol.

Yeah I was going to buy one of those when I first considered a PSP... thank god that I opted for iPod instead (thank you Jebus!). I wonder if the same bootleg MS issues will fall onto the 4 and 8 GB, or if 2 is as high as it'll go (yeah you can trick it, but when I'm dumping an 8 gig movie (I'll find one) on the damn thing and it can only fit a gig... I'm sure I'd clue in)

Mine has 1.91 gigs of storage and is fine for now have like 500 megs of free space left it works :)

@Alien13 - It probally is worth getting a 2 gig because most psp games now are 600 - 800 megabytes, so you'd be only able to store about 2 backup retail games max. GTA Liberty Stories is over 1 gig but riped it is 800 megabytes off your 1 gig stick meaning you only have 200 mb for songs and video files. And that looks real but thats what this other guy on ebay said he said his is genuine from sony but it turns out it was a fake. The only way you can avoid getting a fake memory stick is to get the 4 gig Datel harddrive for you psp. Other than that you have to take a risk. When my psp MSPD goes busted, I will buy a retail one that looks just like it, and than I would retunr it the next day with the busted one and say it doesn't work my Cam Corder and wala, I'd have a retail orginal MSPD.

Ah, ok.
I will keep saving and see what happens with the prices. The 4gb hdds are going for $250+ on ebay right now. Im going to the capitol city some time in the next 2 weeks, everything is usually cheaper there, so i will have a look at a trusted electronics/games store there.

I went through emax_au EXCELLANT customer service :) My package got checked by china and us customs so it took 2weeks longer than expected :'( But they helped me get/track it :) I always reccomend insurance on any purchase.
P.s.
My stick came in packaging that looks like its fake (from this article) but it isn't fake to the best of my knowledge. Filled stick up to less than 100 megs :D

@WrathoPS2 - It doesn't mean its real WrathoPS2, I have a Memory stick 2 gig and I can fill it up to 2 gig also, but I know mine is fake and will one day break down on me.

It depends, some are about 2 weeks to 3 weeks (The ones that are the new fake ones), some can last up to 5 months.
