Could this happen to me when I take a 2.0 and try to downgrade to 1.50 firmware? Or when I try to add on emulators / homebrew or whatever else?

No point in tellin ya lies, yes it could happen...but if you follow the instructions to the T and never switch off or un plug ur AC adapter while doing so u should be fine.

Yes it can happen when you downgrade.
No you cant brick your psp putting homebrew on.
Bricking refers to your psp being rendered useless and not being able to turn on at all.
Bricking occurs because of mishaps while accessing the flash.
Don't worry about bricking your psp during downgrading. Just make sure you keep the adapter plugged in and you dont remove anything during the upgrade. Dont remove the memory card, battery, or adapter, or turn the power off and you will be ok.

To downgrade from 2.0 here is what you do.
You are going to need this file
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/3
and this file
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/4
1. Take the h.dat and the index file and put them in your root folder(next to psp and umdemulator)
2. Take overflow.tiff and put it in your PSP/Photo Menu.
3. Make a new folder in your PSP/GAME CALLED UPDATE. Put the 1.5 upgrade in there.
4. Go to your photo menu, and press down. You should see a black screen with white letters. If not turn your psp off and try again. do not downgrade til you see the black screen with the white letters, this is a very important step
5.After you see the black screen with the white letters wait 30 seconds turn you psp off and turn it on again, Go to the game menu through your PSP and click the 1.5 update. make sure your psp is plugged into the charger. Do not remove the charger at anytime, Do not remove the battery, Don't do anything but press X to start the downgrade
Your psp is going to get to 99% and say that the update failed. This is perfectly normal. Wait 30 seconds after this happened and turn your psp off.
6. Turn your psp back on its going to say an error happened. This is normal as well. Just rebuild your psp like it instructs you to do.
7. You now have a 1.5 psp

NOTE: if you have norton right click icon in sys tray and click disable auto protect for about 15 mins, because it will think overflow.tif is a trojan bricker..

Doesnt need to be disabled for 15 min lol. Just download the file and put it in your photo folder then you can delete it lol. dont forget norton off and wake up and your comp is run by viagra ads

oh yea but im saying he doesnt have to deactivate for 15, if he deactivates it for 5 seconds open the zip and put it on his psp and then he can delete it and reactivate in less than a min.. cause 15 min is a while and i didnt want em to be vunerable that long

You have to switch your psp off twice, one in the end and one in the middle.
And yes POP rules and so does Metal Gear Solid !!

I first heard it was coming out and nearly lauched me kid through the sitting room window! And then found out what it played like and was disapointed. What was he thinking.....
