I've got the latest version of DVD Shrink, Nero version 6.3.1.17.
I've been backing up my personal dvds for three months with no problems. All of the sudden DVD Shrink doesn't burn automatically with Nero. I checked all the settings but don't know what else to do. I trick to "check for updates" on Nero but says "have to be connected to the internet." I'm on my wireless laptop with is connected to the internet. Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Make sure in Shrink, under the Edit tab, go to preferences, under the
File I/O tab make sure "Enable burning with Nero" is checked. Sometimes this setting is missed. Hope this helped.

Are you getting this error:
'Error:\ n Cannot connect TRF'

If so you would need to update to:

nero version 6.6.0.18 updates:
Package 1
Nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://httpdl1.usw.Nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

Package 2
Nero.com/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://httpdl1.usw.Nero.com/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

Anything after this causes DVD Shrink to be unable to use Neros direct burn feature.

If this doesn't solve it, you can use ImgBurn instead of Nero by having DVD Shrink burn to ISO image and then using ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a disk (you could also do this with Nero, however if it is a problem with Nero itself, ImgBurn might be a good alternative).

Thanks for all your suggestions. I do not get an error message. It just doesn't burn. I'm kind of hesitant about uninstalling Nero then reinstalling. Where do I get the program to reinstall Nero? I did look to see where to uninstall and it said Nero OEM . . . guess that probably means something but I don't know what!! I'm also considering taking my computer back to where I purchased it since I have an extended warranty. Think they can fix this program? Thanks again for your help and suggestions.

When you download the update service packs, you don't have to uninstall Nero, it will come up and say you are using this version and this is what this version(that you are upgrading to) is. Then it installs the updates over the old files.

think you'll find that that version of Nero will have problems with shrink and that you have to do a manual burn rather than the program doing it automatically. It saves it to your hard drive and then you have to point Nero to the file

Actually 6.6.0.18 is the last Nero version that does NOT have a problem with the shrink direct burn.

I am having similar problems and have tried updated Nero to version 6.6.0.18 and updated my burner firmware. I have uninstalled all programs and tried re-installing with the same message coming up as I insert the disc.. Note the disc does not start to burn at all and it hasn't damaged a single disc but I keep getting this message:
"Burn Error"

Burn process failed at 4X (5,440 KB/s)

I'm new at this, and this might be a dumb question; but why does this similar problem seem to be with a session being terminated after the audio compilation. The threads state: "DRM burn session terminated and Close entire DRM handling" Could this be caused by some rootkit installed in our PCs.
