Now beforehand I'd just like to say it's likely this thread will turn into a political discussion. If that happens, members must only debate on the issues at hand, not turn this into a "flaming" competition. However, this video link that I'm posting below might upset some people (I'd assume our American users for the most part will be incredibly offended by what this woman is saying) so feel free to express your thoughts on it - just don't flame with another user and everything otherwise is fine :-)

So even if someone pops on to thios thread with the same views as this woman, thenm simply "debate", do not pounce on him/her.

Warning: The site posted below may host some mature videos and pictures that are not suitable for minors.

If you experience slow streaming through web browsers, then you are best clicking "Download This Video" and saving the entire thing, it is only about 9MB.

Anyway, after seeing this video here are some of my thoughts. I strongly disagree with her position. If she is trying to say that some of the worst atrocities and worst medical conditions in the world are being brought upon us by God for what we do - then she is ignoring the fact that apparently God has given all men free will - therefore, events sucyh as 9/11 happened because people choose freely to do it. Personally, I'm not a religious guy, but I just don't understand how people could believe something like this.

One of my wife's patients I think. Unfortunately I served 6 years in the Air Force so this nut has the right to open her mouth and spit out s#$t. Back in the 1600's this woman would have been burned at the stake for being a heretic. Uggh, !!!

It is disturbing that people view things like this. Ever notice how religions supposed to bring peace to the soul and unity to the community, but for the last 2000+ years it seems that whoever won the war to kill the "witches and pagans" was the religion that advances. Using violence and hatred to promote a peaceful cause is fundamentally wrong. This is the Christian equivalent of an Al-Queda jihaad.

I agree. I have no problem with religious people, but I just feel in my heart that we are individual people and not supposed to be bound by rules in life in order to please a God. I do agree with a grouping together of millions and millions of people as a country, setting their rules to keep a balance and to keep peace - but I don't believe religion should influence those rules. It's like abortion - personally I don't like it, I would not be happy if my gf were to plan to have one if I was the father for example.... but even though I don't like it, I disagree with taking away a woman's choice in the matter. I don't like people telling other people what to do like that, it's wrong, especially when you use God as your defense.

And what I just said is nothing compared to what this woman and the rest of her church are trying to accomplish.

Ive been studying with the Jehova Witneses for the past 2 years..but i was born into it. The knowledge ive been provided with is very deep. But it does not allow us to do what she has dun. What is going on in this world is fairly a disgrace as it says in 1 John 5:19. It says that the world lies in the power of the Wicked one..the wicked one being Satan the Devil. Fact of the matter is that she is reffering to the most important instruction that was given to us by the son of god, jesus crist. But she is doing everything wrong giving people misguided knowledge. Jesus was asked by his disciples, "How is it that we will recgonize eachother in the future?" and he replied "By showing love within eachother" atleas thats how i remember it, the text is 1 John 4:20-21 also read 1 John 4:8. But the most important that Jesus actually said himself is John 13:35. From the text 1 John 4:8 you can clearly see that God or Jehova is Love. There are one to many texts from all parts of the bible that refer to this qualitie being his most important one. There for gods not going to Punish us on instant..that day will come, thats what she is tryign to say. But the way she is doing it is by installing Fear which isnt right at all. Gods 4 main qualities are Love, Justice, Wisdom, Power. Fear is one of Satans qualities as you can see it clearly in are present world; ex- Terrorism. Very upsetting is that people like her exist..iam doing all of this from just memory of the video and i have a very bad memory at that..if theres anyquestions regardign to what she said just continue posting. I figure its important to correct the misguided Knowledge given to people. God willl not Curse us, he is love.

And to clear something up..Jehova is the Name of god, it says so in Psalms 83:18, no matter the bible or the color or the size, they all say the same thing at that one Text.

Austin 3:16 --- Thats the bottom line because stone cold said so...
Seriously though, not making a joke of good points just trying to lighten the tone. Hate and fear never really taught anything besides how to promote more hate and fear. There is a history of religious crusades, holocausts and my favorite "ethnic cleansing" and these things have never worked so why keep trying to kill everyone who isnt exactly alike. Stupidity is the result of repeating the same actions and expecting different results.

Im not taking sides. But just to try and put things into perspective. Keep in mind that just because someone says that they are religous (i say religous with no disrespect for any religion/belief) does not mean that they are in fact "religous". I could make a video and say I am the president of the USA but that doesnt mean I am. So just think about it is she really devoted to her beliefs or is she just posting a video on a website saying she is?

I suggest that any debatee take the time to read the series of books written by "Will Durant" titled "The Story of Civilization".

I found their works, (his wife Ariel included), to be very enlightening.

Religions tend to be endemic and reflect the values agreed upon by the local population(s).

I am not a theologian (Will Durant started as one), I am not an agnostic. I'm not sure how I could be categorized.

Regardless of your religion, is homosexuality a violation of the laws of God, Man, or Nature? I would venture that it is the last. Think "PROCREATION".

She is more of an anomlay than mainstream at least I hope.
Her church can only boast less than 100 members with the majority being family members. Hmmm now that should say something.
As the title of the video says This woman is f***ing insane, and I use f***ing, because she is that insane.
Yep definitely got that right.
I also wonder if the station didn't go after a news item like this to boost their ratings by incessing the viewers. It sure made me angry.
If she lived near me well I'll just say her and her 'church people' lives might not be so pleasant to put it lightly.

I think of her and it brings back memories of Jane Fonda they both need to be tied to the stake and stoned to death. The rights to freedom that we served for should not apply to these scumbags. Sorry had to get that out after watching that. Chris

She is obviously misguided, but saying all that, are you not grateful that you still live in a country where free speech is still possible?
If you banned people or talk like this, no matter how repulsive & twisted (which she is) then you never get to put them down with reasoned discussion & show them they are wrong.
This is simply down to lack of education, at least you can explain to your children how & why she is so completely wrong in her arguement. People have used their Gods as an excuse to kill people for thousands of years, it will never stop.
This is why I am eternally grateful that I am not religious.
I sat & watched (live) in horror as the planes hit the Twin Towers, something I will never forget...

Very much like it if you consider the correlation between this lady using her religion as a tool and the people who kill doctors, and bomb clinics which perform said abortions; Doing the things every religion preaches against, in the name of the religion being promoted.

I agree with you Pulsar thefreedom of speech is what makes this country strong ,but there's times and places for it. Such as this being done when a serviceman is being buried and the grief of the family already with enough pain and anguish from losing a loved one to hear these people saying it's Gods will as punishment. I'm sorry just rambled on. Buy 2 things come to mind, people need to see the other side of the world and have some respect. Chris

Therein lies the problem, religious fanatics have the complete inability to respect anyone else, because they believe adamantly that they are right & everyone else is wrong. To hold banners at someones' funeral is indefensible, I would have been quite happy to have been sat in a tree with an airgun with salt pellets aiming at their arms & legs.
Quite rightly, there is a time & a place for everything, funerals are never the place to make a protest. Again these fundamentalists are completely nuts. The final insult is to use God as an excuse, I would imagine He would be looking down thinking "what the hell are these idiots doing?"

Anyways, it's people like that that make me shake my head and laugh my @ss off cause I just don't get how people could be so messed up in the head.

I am glad that here in the USA, there is freedom of speech, but I guess I would have to say that I would not feel bad if someone popped her.
