I just burned my first DVD last nite and it took me almost 12 hrs to complete from start to finish. I have never herd of it taken so long. 1 to 3 hrs is what I thought was the norm. It was an older movie that was copied. I am not sure what I can do to close the gap just a little with the time it took. Is there any settings that I can change? I have 9.75GB of free space and 28.5GB of used space on my hard drive. Could that be the problem? If there is anyone out there that can give me some direction please HELP!!! Thank you all.

You definately need more hard drive space. Also, how much memory do you have? Most people recommend 1GB, but I get by with 768MB just fine.
Also, make sure your burner didn't slip into PIO mode. If it did, that could be why your burns are going so slow. You'll need to change it back to DMA mode. Here is a guide to help you:

If it took a long time to rip, it could have just been the reader having trouble with the disk. Some of the copy protection can slow things down. Were you just ripping from DVD Shrink directly from the DVD itself? Did you try using DVD Decrypter or DVDFab Decrypter to rip to the HDD and then Shrinking to see if that made a difference? Are you using AnyDVD? What disk were you backing up? Did you burn out of Shrink with DVD Decrypter or Nero?
