Chances are that the disk is defective in some way (bad press)..
First:
If your using AnyDVD, you could try ripping the video files to your HDD using the ripper that's included with AnyDVD, the ripper can be accessed by right clicking on the red fox in your task bar. Try and rip the files to your HDD, if successful, open the files using DVD Shrink and process as usual.
Last:
If you just can't get the files to rip to your HDD, return the disk and exchange it for another, chances are that its bad.

When i started this up with CloneDVD, it worked fine....i had about a 15 second period (while creating dvd files) that there was nothing but black. While looking at the compression during this period, there was alot of "dark brown" and next to no "yellow". I am currently in the process of backing it up, if there are any complications on "viewing" the backed up movie, i will post here.

The new version of DVDfab works with this movie. (I did movie only)
I used:
DVDfab to remove encryption.(free)
1Click DVD to compress. (You should be able to use DVDshrink to compress.)
Nero to Burn Back-up.
Once you save movie to HD with DVDFab, you should be able to back-up with what ever software you normally use!

Nothing special and or complicated on this movie. Yes, it is true it has the latest proctections, but even FREE tools like DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker and DVD Shrink can handle it flawlessly.
For more info on how to use DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker (FREE), check out my guide under my sig.
Best of lucks to all and happy burning.

I have tried 2 different copies of Glory Road...in 2 different dvd burners. Neither will copy this movie. I am using AnyDVD 6.0.0.4 and i have tried the newest version of CloneDVD2 and Nero Recode2. They both get an error reading the DVD. Any ideas? The movie actually plays fine in both dvd burners, it just wont read it to copy it.

Hey Alkohol,
I tried your method for ripping The FOG by using DVDFAB Decrypter, VobBlanker & Nero Recode 2. For some reason when I get to step 2 where you Click on VTS_23_*.VOB and then Click on PGC #01 Entry, I can't get the VTS_23 go drop down to the PGC #1 Entry. You labeled the steps as click on VTS_23 AND THEN click PGC #01, BUT I'm getting no response. Can you help me out.
Thank you

if it is like the Narnia and greatest game DVD's from disney then use DVDfab, then in DVDshrink just click "open file" and proceed like normal with shrink. pretty easy really!
