I use DVD Decrypter to rip movies to my D drive. I then used DVD Shrink to burn movies from that drive. Unfortunately, for some reason DVD Shrink cannot see this drive any longer. When I hit reauthor and then go into the DVD Browser, no files appear. I can look at every other drive on this and other pc's on my network, but cant see the D drive. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I have un-installed and re-installed DVD Shrink and nothing worked. I have tried to clean my registry and still no solution. Any ideas...

Start Shrink.
Select either Open Disk Image... from the File menu or the Open Files button depending upon what you ripped from DVD Decrypter. Are the files present on the D drive? Is the D drive recognized?

Thanks for your response. I did as you asked and went into DVD Shrink/Open Disc Image and was able to see the drive and the folder there. I could not see any files as they are ifos and vobs, which this function doesnt ask for. When I go to "Open", I immediately get an error message saying "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to open file D:\***\video_ts\video_ts.VOB. The system cannot find the file specified." What next? I am all ears...

Are you using internal or external burner? If you are using internal burner opening your cpu to check whether the cable connect to your burner are loosen. I have this problems before and I open up my cpu and unpluck the cable connected to my burner and connect back again and it works like a charm

Lazar223, that error sounds like one often present when a structurally copy protected disk hasn't had all the protection removed or in the process of removal the VTS wasn't fixed correctly.

Were you backing up a commercial DVD?
Were you using AnyDVD in the background for decryption and dealing with copy protection?
You could try using DVDFab Decrypter and then DVD Shrink. If the error persists after using DVDFab Decrypter, you may need to run the output from DVDFab Decrypter through FixVTS before using Shrink.

AnyDVD is always the best and easiest solution imo.

Thank you for your response. I am sorry that I havent responded sooner. I am a trader and am up at 5am PST every day and I have a 3 year old. Thus, my days are full. That said, 1. I havent opened up my pc to check whether the cables are loose but I will this weekend. 2. How do you define commercial? In this instance I dont think it matters whether it is "commercial" or not. Not only do I not see any files of the D drive, I dont see anything- no folders, files, nada. 3. I wasnt running anything but DVD Shrink. I will try the the other programs that you recommended. If there is a solution other that DVD Shrink than I will use that. otherwise I will have to keep decrypting them to D and then copying them to C, where DVD Shrink can see them and make backups. It is cumbersome and time-consuming but it works. Thanks again for your help and suggestions.

Start with DVDFab and go from there with DVD Shrink as usual and your problems will most likely be in the past.

Hi,

Software wise, if you are willing to invest in a good program, try slysoft AnyDVD combined with CloneDVD 2. No need to storage in your HD, though you can if you want to.

Cheers!!!
