ok ok i know what everone is thinking but just read i just got thinking one day and i was like how can live actually ban you. This is what i think i think they either deleted a file that you need to connect or they banned your ip does anyone know what they do i was just curious.If they deleted a file i was thinking that if you got someone that had a sofmod and wasnt banned you could seach their hdd and see if there was a file that was missing from that banned one and ftp it over. But like i said if they ban ur ip i think ur screwed but that would be alot of ip's to ban. Well let me know what you think.

good theory, but seeing as i am the nooby-est modder on AD =P, i wouldnt have a clue where to look for the deleted file (if that was the case)

They either ban your eeprom, your account, or your IP, and sometimes a combination of the three.
The whole idea of them deleting a file is useless and not true, cause
A) the workaround would be idiotically easy,
B)They would never be able to enforce a ban,
C)The servers would be rampaged by cheaters and modders as a consequence, which would make people cancle subscriptions to live/demand their money back, etc.
Do you honestly think microsoft would use such a simple method? they know better than to do that by now, with all the WGA sh*t and whatnot they use to validate windows, and all the anti cheat stuff they have in place...

If it where just the case of them remotely removing a system file, i'd think some of the uber 31337 xbox geeks around the globe would have noticed by now and found a workaround for it.

Im pretty sure thats not how a softmod works. The reason you backup you eeprom is so you can restore your harddrive.

No you cant do it like that, you have to phisically desolder the eeprom chip and solder it onto a differnt mobo, you cant re-write it.
I was jsut saying it would be cool if you could. Man cereal you really hostile.
