I'm trying to backup my copy of Entourage. I had no problem ripping it to the hard drive, but when I open it in Shrink the main title came up with with a title set(ex. title 2-7). How do I go about breaking up the title set, since I'm trying to compress it to a single-layer dvd?

I do these with DVD Rebuilder. Each disc is about 2 1/2 hours, so RB will have no trouble shrinking them down, and the quality will be excellent as always.
If you want to break the discs up, that's ok too. How many episodes per disc were you shooting for?

i'm using shrink, so I'm hoping to keep all the menus and stuff. I can fit 3 episodes on each disc. I know I can reauthor in Shrink without a problem but the menus are deleted.

in shrink it shows up as a title set (2-7) and I can't break it up unless I reauthor it. But if I reauthor it, there will be no menus. Is there any way around this?

The problem you are going to have doing this is that you'll end up with episodes that have menus on different discs. You remove say episodes 4 and 5 from disc one so that it's got 3 episodes. Now what do you do with 4 and 5? You can put them on one disc and keep the menus, but if you want 3 episodes you'll need to add in episode 6 which has a menu on disc 2. This will be a pain in the ass. If I were to do this I'd probably just create new menus and mix and match the episodes the way I want. Of course that's not exactly easy to do.
Personally I still think the best way is to use rebuilder. It will keep your menus, and the quality will be excellent because each disc is only 2.5 hours long. Of course it's not a free program, but worth the investment. You could also just use shrink to reduce them. Since each disc is only 2.5 hours the quality will be pretty good. I don't know the exacr size in bytes for each disc, but 6-7GB is pretty bloated for that amount of time, so Shrink should do a pretty good job.

my bad, each disc has 5 episodes. so, i'm going to put 3 on one DVD-R and 2 on the other. I don't care about the wasted space. Essentially I'm just splitting each into two dvd-rs. However, I want to keep the menus. I'm using DVD Shrink, the title list shows up as 2-7, not Title 2, Title 3, etc. The title list is linked together and I'm trying to figure out if I could split them.

Ok, you can do this with vobblanker. Use it to blank out episode 4 and 5, output the new folder, shrink if needed then burn. Now reopen the original 5 ep folder and blank out episodes 1,2, and 3. Output, and burn. Now you've got your discs split with menus intact. If you want to add in another step you can use pgcedit to disable the buttons for the missing episodes on each disc so that they aren't selectable any more.
