DVD Shrink 3.2 error Message

Hello I have been using DVD Shrink for a while and have burned many of my DVD's with it, and now when I go to burn a disc it gives me an error message.

Dvd shrink encountered and error and cannot continue

Copyright protection error

The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error


anybody have any suggestions, I also get this message on multiple disc's on two different machines. Also on movies that i have burned before.

I can't quite figure it out

Welcome to aD!
Since shrink is no longer updated there are more and more movies it can no longer handle due to newer copy protection.
So a free way would be to rip those discs to your hard drive w/ dvdfab decrypter then open those files in Shrink and process are usual.

Another way is to have AnyDVD running in the background w/ Shrink. Not free but has a 21 day free trial: http://slysoft.com

For this disc that you burned previously is this the exact same error you get? What brands of discs are you using?

Yeah it's the same disc as the one I burned previous. The message appears as soon as I click backup it brings up the analyze screen and the pauses like it's gonna analyze it then gives me the error message
this happens on two different machines on all of the discs that I own and have burned before

What are prgoram are you using to burn w/ Shrink - Nero? Is so what version do you have like 6.6.0.18.

i used to have problems burning the red sony arccos discs but finally ive bypassed all copyright and u need to use dvdfab to rip the original disc then i used vobblanker then DVD Shrink perfect copies

I'm using Nero I tried like four versions of Nero starting with nero5 and worked my way up to the new trial version. It's not that it's not letting me burn the disc it's not letting me backup the disc to hard drive. I've done the same process for months and haven't had a problem I haven't needed any other program to do this and I've have tried the same Factory made DVD and the copy of the factory DVD that I already burned like three months ago. I also have tried several different discs, all of wich I had previously burned of two different machines. Now I have the same result on both machines on every disc I try to backup..

Hi - I have a quick question...I am trying to copy an already copied DVD and I have done this before with no problems, however, the disc I am currently trying to copy is a DVD -R (by fuji film) and the programs I use will not "encode" the disc and I get an error reading at exactly the same point (10%) each time I try it. The error message reads: "DVD shrink encountered and error and cannot continue. Failed to read file D:\ Data error. Cyclic redundency check." My question is if you know a way or a program that I can use to copy from DVD-R discs. I use Sony + R discs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Shrink on both pc's. I would do a 'fresh' install - you can download shrink from aD.

If still get the error and just want to save to your hard drive then burn later in shrink go to edit>preferences>file i/o tab and uncheck 'enable burning w/ Nero'.
