Everything has been working smooth as silk for months. All the backup are great. Any DVD paid in full. Today after backing up Pink Panther (no problem) I tried Syriana and firewall. Using DVD Decrypt and then Shrink 3.2 It stalls. It does not automaticly start burning onto the dvd blank using Nero 6.?. as it has in the last hundred or so back ups. Any ideas I'm stumped. Why will it not automaticly start burning. I have shute the computer completly off a couple of time but no auto burn. Decrypt and shrink are doing what they are suppose to be doing. Nothing has changed that I can think of. Help. Thank you

I did it using Shrink w/Nero. AnyDVD in background.
Did you double check to make sure that "Enable burning with Nero" is still checked?

If you have updated Nero 6 in the last 3 months it no longer integrates with shrink by auto burning.

I found where in DVD Shrink has the auto burn with Nero checked. I've used Nero for a couple of years. This has happened out of the blue. One second it auto burns now it doesn't. I'm losing my mind.

What vers. of Nero are you running? 6.6.1.4 does not integrate with shrink anymore. After shrink has finished, goto Nero and Burn-DVD VIDEO FILES which is the file that shrink has created!!!!!

Nero 6.0. Ultra edition. I have always let Nero do it's own thing so I don't even know which type dvd to try and burn.

I'm going through the whole process again and I using a DVD+RW instead of the TY's I usually use. I just noticed the shrink is encoding it is VERY VERY SLOW. It's taking over and hour to encode where before it only took about about 15 minutes.

fxd2002 , try uninstalling and doing a clean reinstall of your programs meaning doing a disc cleanup defragging and cleaning the registry CCleaner is a good tool reboot then reinstall DVD Shrink also make sure you have Nero updated to the lastest verison.
the problem with your slow encoding times with DVD Shrink is your drive kicked into PIO mode where as it needs to be in DMA mode you can fix this in device manager or use this guide..

have you tryed using DVD Decrypter to burn with after encoding with DVD Shrink? might give that a shot

for the record syriana is no special protection, it is css only, and DVD Shrink alone or dvddecrypter will rip this disk fine

I have ripped the file and copied the files to disk using Nero finally. The problem is I don't have autoburn anymore. I have to go to the directory where the files were shrunk to an manually copy them to DVD. I don't know why autoburn doesn't work anymore. It is checked in Shrink.

Newer versions of Nero 6 will not autoburn.
Have you updated your Nero 6 to a newer version?
What version do you have? To find the version number:
Go to Programs > Nero > Nero Ultra Edition 6 > Nero Burning ROM. Click to open. Close the New Compilation window and then click Help at the top. Click About Nero Burning ROM. You version number is there.
As far as your encoding times go, do you have quality enhancements turned on? They will definitely add a lot of time to the process. By default they are on so make sure you turn them off. In Shrink, after you select "Backup!", the Backup DVD menu opens. Go to the Quality Settings tab and see how things are set. This is just one possibility for slow encoding times.

@fxd2002
It appears to me that you don't read anyones responses to your question. Start from the top post and you will see 3 or 4 times about UPDATED Nero DOES NOT INTEGRATE(AUTO BURN) WITH SHRINK.

I used DVD Shrink on Syriana with the intent to burn w/ decrypter but shrink encountered an error about 3/4 the way through, something about e\ failed, redundancy? I was running AnyDVD in background. If I use dvddecryper alone and burn with Nero 6, how do I get image small enough to fit dvd?
