I've tried numerous movies with shrink and everytime I go to press 'Backup' DVD Shrink freezes...if I manage to get past that stage, while the movie is encoding, it freezes at around 5% and gives me the 'cyle redundancy check' error...the movies can't be scratched because I've had this problem with 3 movies now...I tried usind DVD Fab Decryptor but that only gave me a big 6.7GB movie and I followed a guide on compressing it but when I want to create my new movie with shrink, there's no room because the DVD Fab movie has taken up all the space...any help with this would be appreciated thanks...

I don't understand what you're saying here, because Shrink will compress the DVD Fab files, so they'll fit on a blank dvd. I don't know what guide you tried to use, but here are some guides. Try these out:

If you still have trouble, try uninstalling Shrink, and reinstalling it.

ye I used those guides...thats the thing though, I used DVD Fab to make a file and it turned out to be 6.7 GB...then when I selected that file to be used in DVD Shrink, it give me the message that there's no room in my hard disk...
that message means your hard disk doesn't have enough space for the files to be created by shrink. you need to delete enough material from your hard drive to create free space for the new files. not sure how big your hard drive is, but it's time to do some house cleaning. or maybe even consider a larger and/or second drive. removing some old files would be easiest, and obviously less expensive and time consuming. if you right click on the drive icon after clicking on the "my computer" icon, then click "properties", you will see the size of the drive and how much (little) free space exists on the drive. you'll need around 4GB free for the shrink file. good luck!
To start with..............yes.
Once Shrink has compressed to a size for burning, you can delete the 6.5 GB DVD Fab file, and once the dvd is burned, you can delete the Shrink files.
