Hey josh i just saw your post with these instructions
[qoute]
Burning using the ISO file
1.Open Xbox Backup Creator
2.Select your dvd burner from the top drop down menu
(make sure blank dvd+r dl is in drive
3.Click the write tab
4.Set writing speed, probably 2x or 4x
5.Choose xbox 360 under the xbox ISO type menu
6.Click the Start button
7.Choose the image file, press open
8.Wait for the burn to finish
So would that mean i do not need the .dvd file?
Can i burn with clonecd using the method above?
Im so confused after becoming saturated with info :(

you can make your own .dvd file
just make a new notepad doc,and rename it to how the iso reads, apart from the extension ,of which is .dvd
for e.g
if your iso is called example.iso your notepad file will be called example.dvd
inside this notepad doc you write this for e.g
LayerBreak=1913760
example.iso

Thanks for that hursty.
I assume if i use image burn i wont need to do that as in imgburn you set the layer break?
or would you recommend i create the dvd file and stick to clonecd.
so would this mehod now be corrent
1. get iso from net
2. Create .dvd file
3. Convert iso to NME using NME Associator
4. open .dvd in clone cd
alternatively open iso in imgburn and burn using iso whilst setting the layer break
have i missed anything here, im thinking the ss file and using ss merger, however i cant seem to find the ss file for bioshock PAL

Too much info....we dont care how you get your games!
Personally, I think the imgburn method is the best because a)you only have to set the layer break once and b) imgburn is a solid app.
Clonecd works fine though, just not a solid app in my opinion. And since you are downloading games *slap* I am pretty sure you dont have to use ss merger, might be wrong with older games though.

Where are my manners, hello Hursty :)

morning
i know i'll probably get some stick for this but if i've read the answer, i've forgotten it and i apologise
i've made three coasters last night and i just dont want to do another
i've gor the discs; verbatim dvd + r dl, my pc is capable of dl burn, i've got the backup and get two files the image.000 and the .dvd file
first time i used deep burner and got nothing which prompted me here, then i used img burn and got a welcome screen saying put this disc in an xbox 360 console to play
last time i used xbox generator backup and got the same thing
i'm probably missing something really obvious and i apologise again for my stupidity if it is that obvious. but please .. someone help
cheer

I mean do I have to do that to install the mod so that then the drive will be able to read burned games? Or is there a way to do this without having to open the 360 up?
Thanks!

Hey guys I found this video that shows two guys showing how to mod the 360 and copy games. It?s a pretty funny video you should check it out. But they say there is a hardware mod for the Hitachi drive 360s that you can do WITHOUT having to open the Xbox. Do you know how this is done? They just show some little device in the video but don?t really talk about how to do it because the Xbox they have is a Samsung.
Forward to time stamp 8:45 to get to the start of the Xbox hack segment.

Im at a complete loss now and i can only think of two reason for my dilemma
I just burnt bioshock for the 5th time and i created a coaster. here is what i have done
I have used the NME Associator on the file (game is prepatched so i used the convert tab)
I then created the .dvd file as advised on the boards
i then burnt the file using the .dvd file in imgburn(did not tweak anything in imgburn)
I have +r dl verbatime and i burnt this game on my pioneer 112D
Now i have the same error as before and im being prompted to "place the game in an xbox 360 machine"
My two ideas are this
1. bad iso
2. Chip is not operational
Please can somebody tell me if i missed something i have followed everything.

i'm not sure if i can help as i'm also new but i had that same issue you're having and josh above siad it could be my burner (he's actually recommended i get the one you are using, so i'm a little concerned now)
but have you used xdvdmulleter? try it, it did it for me
also, when burning in imgburn try burning at 2x in stead of 2.4x

How do i change this in image burn

does that program let me change the book type as imgburn does not have the pioneer tab to change it

FYI-
The guys in that video say that the NEC ND-3550A is the best drive to use because it already has book type and bit settings (what ever that means). You guys should check out that video.

Thanks been looking to get a new sig,
same style just with like cesc and clichy maybe.
And i would still recommend that drive to you even though unimatrx is having problems burning games.
@unimatrx
The pioneer does auto booktype.
I thought it didnt like you aswell,
what you are seeing will be the disk book type (dvd+r dl)
after burning to the disk its booktype will change to DVD-ROM.
Did you download the bioshock iso?
If you did check the comments to see if everyone else is having burning problems.
I dont have much experience with the NME chip though,
someone will though and they'll be able to help you out more.
@XBOX2007
This is the real product which means you can flash your xbox without opening the drive
http://www.mrmodchips.co.uk/catalog/prod...products_id=433
however you do have to open the xbox 360 to install it.
Installation: http://www.team-xecuter.com/blaster360/installblaster360.htm
And it may be ture that the NEC drive auto booktypes,
but that video is old, very old.
The pioneer is a much more solid drive and im sure most people on these forums will agree with me on that one.

Hey Josh
Thanks for your reply after burning imgburn tells me the booktype was dvd +r dl. I downloaded the 112L firmware that is supposed to make the pioneer do the dvd-rom. Im burning now so lets see what happens, it could be a record 8th coaster here.
