Dark_Alex has just come up with an untested 2.6 downgrader. http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=8100 Someone has reported a brick already and another person has reported a successful downgrade. Who knows, check it out.
Some 2.6 users on here, test it out and see what happens.

What I wanted to know is how if the UP can unbrick stuff, if theyd be able to come up with a temporary no solder connection. Just tape , whatever to apply to the board to just 1 time reflash it back to 1.5, then remove.
Get 1 chip to fix all your friends psps to 1.5, whatever.

About all of my posts in the last 2 days, but I'm not so worried anymore. Over at PSPU it's been basically all bricks with people using the program. I aint concerned.

Wow, if this downgrader has a 99% success rate that would be really awesome, I wonder if DarkAlex will be willin to test it out himself :p
I'm glad I'm not dyin to test this out.. coz if I had a 2.6 I know for sure I'd be tempted as hell!

Ok after readin that that downgrading thread on maxconsole I'm seriously confused.. Can somebody explain why there's better luck on downgrading with an upgraded 2.5/2.6 instead of an original 2.5/2.6?

I think that's because of a hardware issue. Don't quote me though.

I've been checkin out both PSPUpdates and max console..
Stumbled across a nice piece of information regarding the PCB version TA082 that is not supported by the U.P. Chip.. I certainly hope that peeps know that before they run out to buy that chip.

Its pretty good, and the ripkit takes it from 1.66 gigs to less than 400MBs, only problem is the readme in the kit is extremely vague, and a lot of people will be stumped when they try to get it working.

One PSP over at PSPU bricked his PSP due to that.

Even though I believe it clearly said on ps2nfos post that it wont work on the 82's.
Reading has its uses.

Thats a shame, peeps really need to take time with all this downgrading, theres so much hype right now.. no one is thinking straight!
Oh yea not to mention that the UP chip may meet an early death if this downgrader really takes off. I'm sure modifications are being made right now as we speak to this first release.. I can just feel it in my blood.
This is gonna happen for real!
