Hi guys.

I have suddenly got a problem after backing up a few movies using Shrink.

They are sitting on my hard drive as MDS files and are all showing as 5kb. I had chosen the option when in Shrink of creating ISO files which is how they normally come out and i normally then use Decrypter to burn. Now instead of one ISO file which is how i normally locate the movie files i now have I01 to IO4 and the MDS file previously mentioned.

When i try to open any of the MDS files to burn with decrypter i get message ' cannot open the file, system cannot find the file.

Apologies if this is covering old ground but i couldnt find any answer by searching.

Thanks all.

yeah, you might want to do a full disk back up if you have been doing the re-author. Try doing that again and make sure that in the preview of the movie it is doing the whole thing. Maybe it's that the HD is not big enough to hold the whole movie. Try those things and post your new problems here. Hope this will help.

Sounds like your HDD is in Fat32 format, and not NTSF. Fat32 cannot handle a file larger than 4g so it s broken up. Usually a file ripped by Decrypter will come out this way, and you need to open the MDS file in Shrink and then output. You should however to be able to burn by choosing the MDS or Shrink output iso file from either Decrypter or ImgBurn. If you are running XP you should really think about reformating the drive to NTSF, as this will handle larger size files.

I ripped the files to a new external hard drive forgetting about it still being in FAT32 form!

Doh!!

Can you explain where i can find the option you mention in Decrypter please to allow me to burn.

Thanks lot.

You should be able to go to your Mode tab and choose iso write and then open the MDS file and Decrypter should burn it.
