I've just started using DVD Shrink and successfully burnt a couple of DVDs but on two others I keep getting a "Data error(cyclic redundancy check).
Does anyone know what's causing this and how to get around it?

The DVD you are trying to backup may be dirty, physically damaged (scratches) or badly authored. These are the most common reason that you get this error code - the DVD can't be read by your DVD reader/burner.

There is also another more and more common reason for this error code - the DVD you are trying to backup is protected by the ARccOS copy protection system. To overcome this protection you need to use another tool such as RipIt4Me - as DVD Shrink can't handle this protection on it's own. Macrovision Europe's DVD Decrypter is a program you can use before the files can be handled by DVD Shrink.

Hi :)

Give DVDFab Decrypter a try it's free and can be downloaded here http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm it will break the encryption while putting the movie onto your HDD.

Like dialysis said make sure there are no scratches, fingerprints etc.. on the disc.

Perosnally I believe this is an encryption problem. If DVDFab Decrypter or ripit4me does not work for you then use AnyDVD from slysoft http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html you have a 21 day trial.

What 2 movies are you having problems with?
